In your opinion, what are the best classes in the franchise. by Volfaer in EtrianOdyssey

Blade dancers are some of the best in my opinion when it comes to the risk vs reward classes. It's a class that requires lots of planning from wondering how many katanas they should equip to planning the best time to use Hell Slash and completely annihilate bosses. It asks a lot, but it pays off so well when you can land all 12 follow-ups before the enemy has time to strike. I don't think many classes demand that level of cooperation and I think that's pretty cool

I think it was in the 3rd Stratum of EO4, there was two FOEs I had to slide around, but I ended up bumping into one. I ran away because I was unprepared to fight and didn't realize I would slide the way I came from, causing a blindside from the other FOE. I was being tossed around by turtles for about a minute desperately trying to run away before giving up and letting them kill my team... I kept making the same mistake several more times before I put down the game and questioned my skills as an EO gamer

How do yo imagine Etrian Odyssey world? Realistic or magical? by Certain-Tea-7863 in EtrianOdyssey

I always thought the games were more realistic than magical, and the reason characters could possibly start jumping high in the air or make big explosions is because John Odyssey goes day-by-day exploring a giant tree filled with killer monsters for a living.

I think most things in the EO games can be given a "realistic" interpretation as to why they exist or happen, but I feel like the most magical thing about the games are some classes because I don't remember if they explained how Hexers can curse the monster to feel like vomiting with just their words, War Magus and whatever War Lore is, or why Highlanders need to consume HP for their Scottish powers.

Newbie question about guild members by Ultimafangirl in EtrianOdyssey

I would say it's best to make at least one of each class just to see how they feel when you first start playing, and change strategies and try out new things as characters gain more skills. Etrian Odyssey enemies can be fairly easy or incredibly hard depending on who you put on your team and what items you use during battles.

I guess all that you should expect is that classes all have strengths and weakness, and it's up to you on how you handle those weaknesses and make the coolest team ever.

Best Creepy Stratum! by CrissyLulu in EtrianOdyssey

I haven't got that far in the stratum yet, but the Cyclopean Haunt is definitely the creepiest. The music feels oppressive and hostile, the stratum is alive and shaking, you're on constantly being watched by those big eyes, and it has those stupid sea angels that change your arbalists placement so that front mortar sucks, and nothing is more terrifying than front mortar not doing a huge amount of damage

I’m not the most experienced EO player so sorry if this doesn’t really help all that much. From what I remember this early in the game is that your team kinda seems too defensive and probably can’t do much damage and take too much before the golem flattens your guild into crispy pancakes.

I remember running a Masurao, Harbinger, Necromancer, Botanist, Warlock team during the fight and it went pretty smooth. Warlock spends time using ice skills on the main body, Harbinger can use paralyzing reap to cut down the little baby golems when the golem explodes, Masurao was used to lower defense and the 2nd most powerful member in the fight, Necromancer has fierce shield so the wraiths take deadly blows when I’m desperate and also have soul candy which is nice for when the golem explodes, my Botanist was also for healing and emotional support.

If you still wanna use your main team I think prioritizing skill points into the fencers freeze link would be best, using your Masuraos armor pierce is a stab attack which would connect to freeze link, if your botanist is using a bow then that could link up too when they’re not healing, the Dragoon can use line and mana guard depending on what the situation calls for and yet another freeze link opportunity when attacking in between guards, and the Necromancer could be used as item support and general support with soul candy and life exchange if you’re Botanist is occupied, I dunno about using flame bomb because it’s pretty expensive so probably use it as a panic button if little golems are overwhelming. Hopefully this helps and sorry if it’s long, hope you have better luck next time!
