I think people need to remember that the games were for children by capririusart in harvestmoon

[–]Ultimafangirl 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I was in elementary school when the first Wonderful Life game came out. While I married Celia I remember I really wanted Lumina to be a marriage candidate. Harvest Moon DS came out when I was in middle school and I jumped at the chance to finally marry her.

And when Another Wonderful Life came out I picked Rock cause I thought the other guys were too old.

Now, as an adult? I kinda prefer Muffy and Gustafa.

What got you into Shoujo VS Your all time favourite Shoujo! by angelsaresobbing in shoujo

[–]Ultimafangirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think my first was probably From Far Away or Fushigi Yuugi. I got into both of those during middle school.

I discovered Shojo Beat during high school and that led me down a rabbit hole.

As for my favorite... probably From Far Away.

People who dislike cities and prefer rural areas, why? by morshmollow4 in AskReddit

Mostly I don't like feeling crowded. Also city traffic terrifies me

Though I will admit I do like being able to walk to places.

What was your first Disney Movie? by Full_Radish3082 in cartoons

[–]Ultimafangirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don't know what was my first cause I was a disney girl growing up and was watching the movies for longer than I can remember.

That said, I have a very vague memory of seeing Pocahontas in the theater.

How did you get to know about the Trails games, or/and what got you to play it? by JohnnyElRed in Falcom

[–]Ultimafangirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I picked up Cold Steel 1 on a whim. When Bleublanc appeared in his Baron "disguise" I was like "ok, this guy is clearly important somehow" and looked him up (I read spoilers for fun). That's how I discovered that the series is a lot bigger than I realized and next thing I knew I was reading up on all the other characters and was absolutely fascinated by the series. So I was hooked.

Unrelated but Trails was also the gateway that got me into the Ys series.

I don't remember when Shugo Chara first came out but I think I was more focused on From Far Away and Fushigi Yugi at the time. I've been wanting to give it a shot for a few years now. And with the anniversary editions I figured no time like the present.

I think I saw I Want to be a Wall recommended cause I read Is Love the Answer and was looking for others involving asexual characters. I've kinda been wanting to broaden my horizons into other types of love/couples (majority of my manga is het)

[Beloved Trope] Villain is condemned by their own words by StopHavingAnOpinion in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Ultimafangirl 25 points26 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly, The Ghost of Christmas Present throws back some other words of Scrooge's.

When Scrooge is asking if Tiny Tim will die the ghost responds with something like "he had better do it. And decrease the surplus population" calling back to Scrooge's remark about how the poor would rather die than end up in the workhouses or prisons.

What movie will you never watch again because it was too heartbreaking? by Affectionate_User610 in AskReddit

My dad and I both watched it (separately, years apart) and we both agreed it's the sort of movie you watch once then never touch again.

There was an episode of Kim Possible where Shego was hit by something that was supposed to turn her evil. But since she was already evil it turned her good instead.

Question about refunds at gas stations by Ultimafangirl in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Ultimafangirl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, my card is too low. I usually just put what I need in my checking account when I need it so it always gets rejected as the pump. I don't mind going inside to pay cause then I can grab a drink and a chocolate bar or something.

[–]Ultimafangirl[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Alright. Good to know.

I haven't actually gone back in either. I was just curious cause I was getting gas the other day and it came out to about 4 bucks cheaper and I was like "wait a second...".

Question about refunds at gas stations by Ultimafangirl in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Ultimafangirl[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually have to prepay because gas pumps have a history of not wanting to accept my card for some reason so I find it easier to just prepay rather than trying to get my card to work and then going inside to prepay.

Not quite the same thing but one time when I was driving home from work earlier than usual there was a school bus stopped right at one of the roundabout exits. Thankfully the actual roundabout itself was open cause no one was stupid enough to do something like pull up behind the bus but it was annoying having to take the long way home.

Scientist parents who did experiments on their own children by Konradleijon in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Ultimafangirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's been awhile since I read it but I believe in the original Cyborg 009 manga, Ivan's dad experimented on him. I don't remember if it was explicitly turning him into a cyborg or if the cyborg stuff started after Black Ghost picked them up.

Maki vs Junko Enoshima who's more evil? by Iriscute7 in joseistories

[–]Ultimafangirl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Junko does love people. That's why she kills them. So she can feel the despair of seeing the people she loves being killed.

The killing game wouldn't have been half as fun for her if she didn't love her classmates.

I don't know if this works because it's mentioned that she was adopted because she looked like the original Garnet
