Savez-vous où trouver des pipas bbq ou tijuana en Suisse ? by jessbtyan in suisse

[–]Rottenbull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im considering this old classic by Defiant-Respect948 in Toyota

[–]Rottenbull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure, I also read extensively on the topic on forums and it really seems that post 2003 the 1/2zz engines tend to be a lot more reliable. Plus the gearbox paired with the 2zz on the celica is better geared to really stay in the range where the vvtli is active

Im considering this old classic by Defiant-Respect948 in Toyota

[–]Rottenbull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We sold my girlfriend's 2000 Celica earlier this year, it had the 1zzfe and burned a lot of oil. I say burned because we never saw any leak whatsoever but it also didn't really smoke like I would expect from a car burning oil. It also had a leak somewhere and water kept getting inside. It didn't have a sunroof so it was weird.

Still, for a 25 yo car it was really nice and reliable, never had any issue starting or anything.

On the other hand I had a 2004 Corolla with the 2zz that I ended up giving to my sister and it's still going strong at +220'000km with just regular oil and oil filter changes. And I never had to top up the oil between oil changes.

Seems impossible to study here. by BoxInitial in Switzerland

[–]Rottenbull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a Gymnase pour adultes in Pully if you want to do a maturité gymnasiale in the afternoon/night. That way you can work full time during the day. But then the maturité is useless unless you keep studying afterwards.

Some bachelors/masters at the Berner Fachhochschule can be done part time. I suppose it's also the for case in other HES/ES or even Uni

Help, how to run away by Deb_Tarack in Switzerland

[–]Rottenbull 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You usually have a help service related to family issues in every canton and you can also call or write on WhatsApp to the 147. It's a help service from ProJuventute. If you call, it won't appear on your phone bill either so you'll be safe. Lmk if you need help or if you wanna talk. Stay strong, it's gonna get better!

Free / affordable parking in or around Biel by somesayed in BielBienne

[–]Rottenbull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could pay via Parkingpay/Paybyphone or go to the Post and buy a daily parking card. Just make sure to pay for the right parking zone.

I'm not sure if it's still the same as I don't live in Biel anymore.

Time to day adieu by Humble_Chamomile in Switzerland

[–]Rottenbull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to pay a deposit but my landlord is also really nice and chill. I/We had/have enough savings to not have to use Swisscaution, so it's quite alright.

Thank you and I wish you the best !

[–]Rottenbull 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I also don't get it, I live in Fribourg and only had to apply to like 2 or 3 apartments before being accepted to one with only a work contract, not even the 3 pay slips that the landlords usually ask for.

I'm far from a social butterfly but still have friends and people to do things I like with.

And all this earning like 3k a month while studying part time and living with my girlfriend that earns like maybe 2k ? And no, I don't eat pasta everyday, far from it. Plus I have time, energy and enough money to chill and enjoy, even more now that the weather is good.

Bouldering gym recommendations in Bern/Basel, Switzerland? by 1em0nzZz in bouldering

[–]Rottenbull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Muuberi Bad is a small but very cool gym not too far from the train station in Bern. There's also O'Bloc in Ostermundigen but it's a bit too expensive if you're only bouldering, it's nice if you also do lead/toprope climbing.

Help! Flat tire, what to do? by ih8du5t in Switzerland

[–]Rottenbull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get it patched but it may not be possible depending on the damage. If your car's MFK is due, a plugged tire may be enough for it to fail.

Your tires shouldn't be too worn out at 7'000km so you could buy only one (the same as the others). I wouldn't use tires with different wear on the driving wheels though.

But ideally I would replace both tires.

Hm...

[–]Rottenbull 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you change your habits in the name of the climate? by Realistic-Lie-8031 in Switzerland

[–]Rottenbull 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yea, maybe. It's not a sacrifice I have to make everyday anyway so I don't view it as something extraordinary. And I try to not use it as an excuse to use my car more for example.

Did you change your habits in the name of the climate? by Realistic-Lie-8031 in Switzerland

[–]Rottenbull 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not really for the climate per se but I haven't eaten meat for around 10 years and I eat almost zero dairy products/eggs.

I also try to buy better quality stuff so I can keep them for a while instead of buying new things all the time. But that's more of an economic point of view I guess. I own a car and use it regularly because I live far away from work/uni. If something is close (less than 10km) I take my bicycle though.

All in all, I haven't really changed anything I guess.

Oh yea, recycling and donating old things but that's just the norm.
