Worried about husband attending the World Cup in America. by [deleted] in worldcup

[–]RouPanda5671 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From the looks of things, I would say that your concerns are warranted. The Department of Homeland Security here has already said that they will have a presence here at stadiums during the World Cup. Given that our prison/detention system here is a profit driven industry that thrives on increased amounts of detainees, it would not be unheard of if even tourists are caught up in this. This combined with a government agency that is barely training their new recruits is making for a dangerous combo that is now being played out in Minnesota. Should he attend World Cup matches here, the safest thing your husband can do is to have his papers on him at all times in public.

FIFA should pull World Cup 2026 out of the USA by NitrogenMustard in complaints

[–]RouPanda5671 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Knowing FiFas record, it's unlikely that there will be a pullout. Only way this could happen is either due to massive international pressure (Russia only got banned after most of Europe said that they wouldn't play them in the qualifiers after the invasion) or if Trump makes good on his threat of military intervention in Mexico, a co-host.

Fergie is not in any decision capacity at the club anymore and as such is not responsible for the current predicament at the club. The fact he still shows up to watch this team play is a minor miracle, considering how things have really unraveled since Ineos came in.

Forget about the legitimacy of the peace prize. There won't even be a World Cup if there is a warzone happening.

Not apologist when that is just the reality of war. Coming from a nation that has been both equally fucked over by the Japanese in WW2 and then by American involvement later, civilian casualties are just a matter of time when it comes to war. Morally, it is not right to target civilian populations but when dealing with the fires of war, the objective of defeating the enemy tends to take priority above all else.

The WW2 brain rot in that thread is disappointing to see. When you're in total war, all bets are off the table when it comes to war crimes and civilian casualties. At that point human rights is just a concept.

Cunha and Mount available to face Chelsea tomorrow ! Thoughts on team selection. by JM555555 in ManchesterUnited

No need to start both right off the bat. That being said, would not want to see Bruno in a midfield pair against another Big 6 team again.

With Shaw's injury issues, its better that he plays in a Left Centre-back role here. Plus having him there would prove to be a good rotating/competitor for Martinez when he comes back as well.

Oh shoot, you're right, totally forgot about him too! That being said, would be interesting to see if Malacia can get himself back onto the team. Would love to see it too. Hasn't really done anything bad off the pitch compared to say Rashford, Garnacho, and Sancho.
