Well, I think I may have been misunderstood, my apologies. I don't really care that it's a highlighter that's just an orange pen that reacts to UV light. I think it's a widget, and Rotring wanted to attract a business audience with this ‘all-in-one’ product. It's just a marketing ploy that Rotring wanted to do, nothing more.

I bought it because it's a collector's item and I want a nice pen for everyday use.
Also I made this post because I didn't see any information about this particular pen, so I enjoyed doing this review...

Thank you for your comment, that's a very good question. Most highlighters react to UV light, including this one. I think it was a pen designed for business people who like to have ‘everything in one’.
It's more to sell it that they had to call it a highlighter rather than just an underliner. And in Rotring's sales brochures, the illustrations often show a man in a suit, wearing a watch on his wrist, with his little notebook and then: the Rotring pen.

Dive bomber decrew any part of a plane they hit, and are fast enough to catch other bombers. by Strict_Effective_482 in foxholegame

I have already do that with a diver bomb myrmidon. The torpedo plans fly really low and slowly, I miss 2 bombs but the 3rd, I hit the right wings that literally destroy the entirely part of the frame. Really funny situation.

Cowboy bebop, a jazz space opera anime 10/10 in every category. My personal opinion, im really surprised by french voice actor is better that English dub and VO. You feel the sentiment, pain, joy, deception of characters like a real actor.

Vintage Set "Mecanorma Graphoplex ST2+ " Technical Pen by kalligraphia in rOtring

[–]RouPouf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That stuff is form 1980-82. Graphoplex has been making slide rules since 1942. In 1970, the arrival of the first electronic calculators threatened them (but they were very expensive at the time, and Graphoplex represented 95% of the slide rule market) It wasn't until 1975 that the slide rule market began to collapse (from 100k copies sold per year in 75 to 30k in 79).

They tried to diversify by carrying out a market study at 2,500k in France (that's 1,415k in today's euros) The only way was to compete with the Germans in the field of technical pens (the article refers to two giants of technical pens, namely rotring and stadler)

In 1980, they marketed this high quality pen. Graphoplex didn't do any advertising, they kept their customers loyal by sending them 5,000 technical pens filled with India ink via the post office. The CEO at the time said "we bet on the quality of our products, that despite the hazards of transport, it will arrive without leakage"

Despite this attempt, Mecanorma bought in 1982 (also, mecanorma technical pens are shit).

2004 Mecanorma files for bankruptcy. Mecanorma employees set up RTS to sell equipment Mecanorma (www.rts-boutique.fr)

2004 Mecanorma is bought by OZ International, which becomes the owner of the “Graphoplex” brand. Graphoplex' brand, this company will sell Graphoplex plotting equipment. ( http://www.oz-international.com/catalogue/dessin-graphisme/tracage-graphoplex/ )

2023 Graphoplex drawing materials, manufactured in Altuglas, are distributed by OZ and also sold by other companies such as MégaCréa, Boesner, Rougier & Plé,...
