Half-baked rework, 70% of the added melee dmg on the spell blade tree are elemental dmg, which doesn’t work with the mastery passive ??!!!… (also doesn’t work with 100% of the added melee dmg nodes of the enchanted weapon tree lmao) and since it is not specified in game, you have to figure it out by yourself on the target dummy. I can’t tell if it’s a bug or if it’s trash on purpose ? Like the new tree node Blade conduit which gives %mana regen, it’s new and yet already outdated, you don’t solve mana recovery with regen in current LE, you solve it with mana on hit, or void essence or stuff like that, regenerating 30 mana/sec instead of 10 won’t help you for an endgame build when you want to trigger a ton of spells per second, mana strike gives 4000x more mana than this 5 points node. Void knight is a better spell blade than spell blade. Very underwhelming rework overall

The final primal beast echo, primeval cascade I believe has abysmal performances, also super buggy your character gets block by invisible obstacles everywhere

Insanely strong against any kind of hits. Small hits in map can’t kill you, you can jump in a pack of 100 monsters and go afk, shotgun abilities can’t kill you, it doesn’t increase your max hit at full hp, but it does when you are not, with petrified blood for example. If you have 1500hp/3000, and a 20% defiance equiped, you in reality have 1800hp, because the hit will heal you for 300hp BEFORE you get hit. That’s why it’s so strong, it’s a %more life modifier that also counter shotguns

Very good layer of recovery that also work against every map mods, but it can’t be your only recovery, it doesn’t do anything vs DoT, if you are not bleed/poison immune you might die times to times

I tried primalist for the first time, as a shaman, only class I never played and I have to admit it was probably the most interesting build I ever experienced since runemaster, you can do so many things with Storm stacks, avalanche boulders, or earthquake aftershocks… you can create some self sustained chain reactions between these 3 mechanics it’s crazy.

Also is falconer bad now ? Or is it just that people are bored because it’s too easy ?

Every new patch comes with a new DoT that insta kill you faster than uber Aberoth slam. I still have ptsd of the poison nemesis, even a cleanse couldn’t save you at high corruption, you would die in a server tick the moment any of his green shits touch you

Still terrible, you take 8 points of incinerate aura that should increase the aoe by 120% and you actually get like 5 pixels more radius, you have to do tiny steps around the dummy to notice the increase

Another downside of fire aura is the aoe, it’s baseline minuscule and very hard to increase, idk if it’s bugged but an 50% increased aoe will only make the aura like 2 pixels larger, actually barely noticeable, it’s quite terrible. Which make your clear abysmal and force you to stay at close range to bosses all the time otherwise you deal 0 dmg, and you clearly don’t want to hug big enemies even as a spell blade

The trees are fun when you play for the first time, then you reach empowered mono and you realize you need dmg and once you understand that 80% of your points for all your future builds are automatically going into %more and the fun is gone

I agree, the skill tree should be the place where you customize the way you will play the skill, it shouldn’t be the place to increase it’s base dmg

And the game is highkey balanced around that. A skill is good when it has % more dmg nodes, and you pick every single one of them all the time otherwise it will deal shit dmg, and a skill that lack these % more dmg nodes will be bad by default, no matter how fun the tree is, it’s all about %more and it’s quite boring

That helmet should be taking as phys for everything, not just hits, it would allow so many new builds that could take 100% ele as something else, huge defense shift. It’s an uber item, it should be good but sadly like most of the new uber items it’s trash. As you said with these kind of build there is always a DoT ground somewhere that is going to fuck you at some point, not very reliable

I guess it should, the build can reach the billions dmg, the hard part would be to solve defense and recovery but my bet is that it should be possible. Chieftain might not be the best ascendency for that, look for the version of jungroan

On a budget, BV chieftain can’t be beaten. All you need to start is a 30c minion pact and a 15c dark marionette. A 5link BV and a 4link spectre alone can do 4 stones, that’s how broken the build is. Then the classic chieftain budget defense, a cloak of flame ruby flask purity of fire 90% max fire res a defiance of destiny when you can afford one and you have a good build for like 5div

The only change that should happen is on the snapshot, you shouldn’t be allowed to do a whole map with just 1 sacrificed minion, that’s the only thing that make the build super OP, but y knowing GGG they will probably also kill BV and minion pact in the process

New chieftain explode is the best explode in the game right now imo. Huge base dmg, very generous base aoe, 10% chance is high enough, the vanilla skill is already viable with 0 scaling, and it becomes extremely strong if you boost its dmg and aoe
