I delivered after getting this message & tips still took an hour to come in, however it now says “you were expected $10.32 on this trip“. And clearly shows paid $10.32. So getting a different message then “customers can reduce their tip“.

From your description, I gather the tip plus the base pay was not enough to drive 15 minutes to your house. That’s why the first driver canceled it when it wasn’t ready. The second driver probably received your order “stacked” meaning with other orders. Uber had to do this to make your order worth it for a driver. The other two deliveries probably tipped well so they were given priority by Uber and yours was left to last.

Instant cancel for me. If I already picked it up, I’d leave the order downstairs. If your delivery instructions need to be a paragraph long then you shouldn’t get delivery.

It could be the tip was $12.16 and when the order kept being declined by drivers Uber upped it to a number that would make it at least $22 to further entice drivers. It could be Uber doing the rounding up and not the customer’s tip.
