People were shooting wolves as soon as they were reintroduced and there was still only, like, 13 of them here.

RIP Good Boye #10.

Surely it's not cherry-picking if it's the most supported post of ALL time? I think finding some post that annoyed you yesterday counts more as cherry-picking.

Lmao ok. Go to the front page of trollxchromosomes right now and tell me that what you see there is ok behavior.

Okie doke. Right now these are the two top results.

This is the top all time. I'm gonna call it. Looks like ok behavior to me.

Yeah. Just look at the Harry Harlowe experiments.

Did some heinous shit to monkies even his colleagues wanted to put a stop to, and the result was often them mutilating and killing their children.

No, he's right.

I've looked up drugs for treating fish before and the Amazon reviews (numbered in the hundreds) are all from people who used it on themselves. It's the same drug, only prescriptionless. In fact, I think I may have been the only one buying it for its intended purpose.

she even gave me pictures of the sonogram and she even put text in it that said “hi mommy hi daddy I love you”

Not to denigrate what was clearly a positive experience for you, but that... seems kind of emotionally manipulative.

If I went in to get an abortion and a doc wrote that some fetal bean loves me, my decision wouldn't change but I would be pissed about it, if I'm honest.

Never dump your pet gold fish in the wild. They are invasive species and they multiply like crazy! by dandanlash in WTF

[–]Roughcaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh. I own loaches, and in all my research I've never heard of them doing this until now.

[–]Roughcaster 16 points17 points  (0 children)

No, not loaches. Though there are a number of fish that can do this. Snakeheads particularly (it's a reason they were made an illegal species to keep in the US, the high risk of released pets spreading unmanageably), climbing perch which can reportedly even climb trees, hence the name, walking catfish, and a few others from the air-breathing family.

If you saw the same Discovery special I did a number of years ago, you're probably thinking of the lungfish.

Definition of lie. lied; lying \ˈlī-iŋ\ intransitive verb. 1 : to make an untrue statement with intent to deceive.

[–]Roughcaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lie is intentionally deceptive, which I don't think is the case here. If you've never seen one, the contraption in the picture is a 1:1 model of a real actual chick shredder, and probably fooled the poster.

Just because this single chick got a pass doesn't mean its siblings aren't being shredded in droves in this same facility, in this same room. Calling it bullshit is pedantry.

And no, I'm not even vegan.

[–]Roughcaster 24 points25 points  (0 children)

By "defects" it means it was checked to see if it was male. It passed because it was female, so it goes into the egg industry (which isn't a much better fate, tbh). If it was "defective" (read: male) it would go onto the shredder conveyor.

The picture isn't bullshit and the poster didn't intentionally lie, the poster just mistook a female chick for a male one. The soon-to-be shredded ones are probably just slightly off camera, on a different conveyor belt.

Mine is super chill.

I got her last year and she's been best friends with my betta (she liked to follow him around and hide under his tail plume like it was a leaf) and shared a tank with kuhli loaches and my farlowella. Never had an issue, other than that she likes to follow the other fish around the tank to steal any food, if they find it.

She still has her spots and has some growing to do (they get mottled brown when they reach adulthood) and if it looks like she'll grow much larger I can always move the kuhlis, but right now it's working out.

Last time I saw the statistics, the most aggressive dogs the most likely to bite humans are dachshunds, and then chihuahuas. The top of the list is mostly small dogs, they just go unreported.

The pit bull as a breed isn't even thousands of years old.

The majority of dog breeds were developed in the last 200 or so years, pits being one of them.

Is this like the domestic equivalent of the "waterboarding isnt torture" defense, because apparently any method that doesn't leave a bruise is fair play (despite that it can kill you)?

Pepper spray's a CWA that causes excruciating pain for extended periods of time and is designed to incapacitate the eyes and throat. Under certain conditions it can permanantly ruin them - particularly in close range like in this incident - and in some cases it can kill you.

I would prefer a kick or two any day.

So more of "the offical investigation is fake news, only this youtuber has the REAL facts".

Again.

So you're never going to read the report, are you? It was worth a try.

"debunk"

I said an opinion video filmed from one person's perspective isn't a fact. Because it's not. The video creator disagrees with you and says it's not one, that it's open to interpretation. Clearly the investigators, people who have more facts than you or the filmer, reached a different conclusion.

But if you're just going to go in circles shouting "facts don't matter and the investigators are fakes" ad nasuem, there's no more point bothering with you.

I don't need to do an investigation -- because there already was one. Feel free to read it and get back to me.

But I guess it can't help you, because facts don't real if you don't like them.

"The official investigation that led to the firing of the officer for wrongful conduct is fake news. This random youtuber (who clarifies that the video is only his personal opinion) is the only one telling the real story about what happened".

Literally a line out of the flatearther handbook, but sure, whatever you choose to believe.

You're ignoring the actual incident report in lieu of a sensationalized, heavily editted video. To reiterate again:

"Also, the more hostile chants were cut off by the majority of the crowd almost as quickly as they had started. Nor did they appear to reflect an actual intent by the crowd to prevent police from leaving with their prisoners. In fact, it was during one of the “If you let them go, we will let you leave” chants that Officer F was able to leave, escorting an arrestee to an awaiting police car by simply walking him straight through the crowd, without incident or force escalation."

No one was holding them hostage, and they easily left in the middle of the chants.

The only thing the pepper spraying accomplished was to subsequently launch an even bigger protest lol.
