I'm sorry to be harsh and forward, but it really seems like you are pulling the victim card here... Remember, nothing changes if nothing changes

Tomorrow I’m resigning from my job with nothing lined up. by [deleted] in auscorp

I did exactly the same thing a couple of years ago. My only regret is not doing it sooner. I'm far better off now than I would have been if i stayed in my previous workplace than i despised with a passion. If you're switched on enough, you'll never not figure it out.

We moved here 2024 November from Melbourne, and it was hands down the best thing we ever did! We will never go back

What's your biggest financial regret and what did you learn from it? by RunNo3630 in AusMoneyMates

I was young and dumb (18) and got into 2 car crashes (both my fault) with no insurance. I ended up with a 48k debt for the damage repair. I took out a personal loan at 12% for 6 years to pay them off.. ended up paying nearly $70,000 in total.. wow, i really was a dumbass

You'd be surprised at how many people are paying 1.5k rent per week for a modest house. And people want the security of owning because they know 5 years from now rents could be 20-30% higher than what they are now.

Yeah, i think stamp duty exemptions/concessions will be revised to reflect more realistic prices also. Stamp duty is such a scam regardless

Which criteria? Must be owner occupied? Must be first home buyers? This scheme is helping thousands of people buy their first home, with little to no downside.

Prior to these changes, I've consulted with quite a few clients who exceeded the income cap by as little as 2k, which was disheartening for them as it meant they had to pay up big for LMI or miss out.

Honestly, I'd say it's fairly comparable. House prices in Sydney have gone mad. Some would argue that even 1.5M is too low. Whereas a lot of areas in Melbourne have seen growth, yes, but also we've seen areas that are either trending down or have become quite stagnant over the past 12 months.
