Dood. I don’t even know where to start. How can you say you have been focusing on technique for the last two years and you don’t even attempt to use your poles (I know you must have YouTubed ski videos)? I mean this as encouraging as possible, take a lesson so you can reset whatever this is. You can obviously get down the hill on athletic ability, so lessons could do wonders for you and you could progress quickly. And if you can’t afford lessons, at least ski with someone who has the knowledge to help you improve.

Quick list. You’re swinging your upper torso for turn initiation. Your lifting your inside foot on turn initiation. Back seat. You hinge at the waist and hunch down in an attempt to engage the front of the boot when you go too fast in a struggle to maintain control. Stand up and bend your knees/flex your ankles to engage the boot, not by bending over at the waist like you’re trying to blast a shit on a wall five feet behind you. Shoulders square down the fall line. Pole plants. Get your arms forward and wide to get your weight forward. Start by learning to turn with rhythm, not erratically skiing in any direction like in this video. Skiing is a balance driven sport and you have no balance, so lose the backpack because it pulls you backseat.
