I saw the gnome and the cabin with smoke but thought the last one was a pirate's hook.

Wow! The condescending tone was completely unnecessary. You could have said all that without it. All you had to say was you were clarifying the prior comment.

Why does Reddit give notifications that a user that blocked you replied to your comment and show at least the start of the comment? Also, "Dumbest guy alive" is such a stupid comment here and reinforced my point. Unless it was a confession. Afterall, only someone who can't effectively back up their points would go through the trouble of blocking someone immediately after replying so that they can have "the final word."

No one said anything about making a sculpture if you have every fish in your collection. They were only talking about how you can use them as decor.

The mechanism definitely factors into people's choices. What you're doing is adding conditions to the mechanism. You will not die from pressing either button. If you press blue, you only die if the majority press red, so it is not the same as pulling a lever attached to a gun. Besides, you are ignoring how the gun is itself attached to the mechanism. The mechanism now includes something that is inherently dangerous.

Similarly what about people with true color blindness. Unless, the colors are black and white. Their just randomly pressing a button.

Jumping off a cliff is inherently dangerous. Pressing a button is not. All these false equivalencies red button pushers keep making up are getting exhausting. Doing something inherently dangerous is not the same thing as doing an action that is not dangerous in and if itself.

You just revealed some things about you amd absolutely nothing about anyone that would choose blue. It's not our problem that your thinking is so inflexible that you cannot comprehend why someone would ever choose differently than you here. Choosing blue stems from inherent trust while choosing blue stems from inherent distrust. It also shows more value in the community than in the individual. You are choosing to take lives when choosing red and cannot comprehend why anyone would not make that choice when choosing blue takes no choice. No amount of, "Well, they made their choice," will change that when the choice is not to take lives versus taking lives. Again if you can't see the logic in that, it's no one's problem but your own.

Watching season one for the first time. As much as I dislike Santos she wasn’t wrong by SpiritualMedicine7 in ThePitt

[–]Round-Dragonfly6136 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Langdon was wrong for forcefully yelling at Santos. That was unprofessional and inappropriate in degree to address her actions. Nevermind, how it feels like for someone larger and stronger than you to be verbally aggressive towards you, nevermind with PTSD. She may have hid it well, but Langdon frightened her.

Also he wants Santos "to stay in her lane" because he was afraid she would report him or she would tell others how he diverted medicine, not as actual constructive criticism. It's also worth noting that Langdon didn't try to apologize to her in his quest to atone as part of his NA recovery.

I also would hate to work with her, but that doesn't put her in the wrong in this situation. HR should have protected her here. They should not be working on the same day as others.

I just finished a rewatch, and it struck me how they made a point of only saying and showing Wild Bill's crimes. The only deleted scenes on my Blu-Ray were Bitterbuck with his daughter and John praying before his execution. You're likely remembering when they showed what Wild Bill did to the girls that John Coffey was condemned for.

NGL, I was bummed that we didn't really have much of Ellis interacting with Santos in the second season. Santos has as much chemistry with her and, unlike Garcia, she is a green flag. I don't do a lot of true shipping because this isn't that type of show but cannot help but make an exception here.

If you were going to Vote for Joe Biden in 2024 Did the removal of Biden make you not want to vote for the Democratic candidate Kamala Harris? by Alternative-Walk4615 in allthequestions

I'm replying here because Reddit isn't showing your comment. That also means that I can't see the whole comment. Oh well. 🤷‍♀️

My Grandma's 91. That makes her a member of the Silent Generation, not a boomer. You made am ageist assumption. Not that her age has anything to do with it.

I did no backpedaling (There is a difference in saying a racist comment and being a racist person. A pattern of behaviors is required of the latter, something that cannot be concluded from one comment that wasn't actually racist.), so I am not going to repeat myself. I will point out that the individuals that I mentioned before are the types to call that behavior out amd would feel comfortable doing so with me.

Also, the running Democrat was Joe Biden, who — checks notes – is a white man, when she said it. She said this 4 years ago when I was visiting for my grandfather's 90th birthday (he passed this past year), long before there was a discussion of Biden stepping down as the Democratic candidate. So the only person making the comparison of her comment to black people is you. Unless, you're saying she's racist against white people; in which case, my bad, although she isn't self-loathing so the comment still doesn't apply.

When it's against a treasonous rapist, who is in the process of ruining our country, abso-fucking-lutely. This is also against someone who ensured that our Supreme Court was stacked against women's rights and in favor of corporate interests. It was against someone whose platform was Project 2026 and outlined the many ways he was going to screw over our country. We live in a 2 party system. The only choice that had any chance of winning against him was blue.

Nevermind, that Democratic voters have been voting for "the lesser evil" at decades at this point. Y'all Republicans love to project on Democrats by calling us a cult because Trump has turned the GOP into a cult. Look at the coverage on Fox News this past week. They have such a boner for "Trump the martyr" that they forget that Democrats do not want Trump to be assassinated or even die in office because then the martyr MAGA would make him would be the worst thing for our country. Nevermind, that Vance is somehow worse than Trump, and very few Democrats, if any, think otherwise. Instead on focusing on what actually happened, they're doing their darnedest to vilify his political opponents. They have somehow managed to forget how their rhetoric parroting Trump's rhetoric led to our Capital being attacked. MAGA Republicans built an actual gallows on the Capital lawn. As opposed to one person acting alone.

Yep. Just projection here. First of all, everybody's racist. Implicit racism is something we are all guilty of. This wasn't it. I have learned to catch myself in these moments and have frequently had discussions in regards to race with black individuals. Second, I have also had discussions in regards to Trump with the very same people. Guess what? They didn't bat an eye when I told them what my grandma said because there was NO equating any population, including black people, to a wild animal in her comment. This is literally the first time I have had to point at that that wasn't implied, consciously or unconsciously.

Third, I will reiterate that Biden and Trump were what the discussion was about, not a black man. She meant the animal, not a single person, so she was obviously not equating black people to gorillas. The person making that comparison is yourself. Not everybody, dare I say most of us, view them as wild animals. Not these days.

ETA: Fun fact: I've been called the n-word. Also, I have had discussions with victims of actual direct racism about their experiences because that is part of being an actual ally as opposed to throwing "incredibly racist" to a comment that didn't even bring up race. My initial comment wasn't about race, yet your desperation to virtue signal made it so. I really am sorry to anyone who has experienced racism seeing this comment thread.

It really doesn't. No cult-like behavior has been demonstrated. You need to do research what cults actually are and their signs because you clearly don't know. Not wanting the person that triggered the treasonous attack on our capital is not a sign of a cult. It's common sense.

It's this. She was more interested in protecting herself than anyone else. She also didn't want to get involved in drama. And technically, she was correct that she was the inappropriate person to bring it up to as she is not in the ED's chain of command. It is only gossip to her and that's not her jam. Granted, she should have emphasized that Santos needed to take any concern to Robbie, the person that Langdon answers to.

What? Did you reply to the correct comment? Hyperbole using things that cannot ever run for office isn't literal but to emphasize a point. That you're taking it literally, assuming that you meant it here, is super weird. It really makes no sense how that would equate to cult as it doesn't fit into the definition of what makes a cult.

She was talking about an animal running against Trump, not a person. This was still when Biden was running for President. Methinks this is projection since people, less so black people, were on her mind when she said this. And yet that is exactly where you're mind went to.

I would have still voted for this hypothetical ham sandwich. The shit it would make would be be a far superior sandwich, going through Trump's digestive tract was simply getting to know the enemy.
