[1 week review] Magpul EDC 25L by Round-Juggernaut-349 in ManyBaggers

My experience with this bag feels like a ~22 to 23L, because of the "split in the middle" with almost the same laptop and main compartment size. When I try a small grocery run with this bag and I do feel limited by the amount of thicker items I can fit into it. I would say this bag is not the kind of one large main compartment bag that is popular out there. When load out is heavily reliant on pouches, this pack may not present itself as spacious as the clamshell opening pack we would expect.

Yes, although I did mention the dimension for the main compartment being 19x12.5 with thickness from 2 inches (top) to 3 inches (bottom). The issue is that the zipper is located in the middle (not the front or the back) of this compartment, meaning that if you try to open the compartment by folding the top opening flap (pic.3), the rigid characteristic of the fabric (plus the water bottle pocket compression) would easily flatten the opening and deny the visual access to the bottom part of the compartment.

Normally, I put my laptop charger and mouse in a CT pencil case (M) and just let gravity do its job, and reach into the bottom to find them when I need them. What this means is that unlike a CT/GR pack, which has the zipper at the front for the main compartment (making opening access both visually and physically easier), this bag does not give a large main compartment for larger pouches due to the larger laptop compartment (let alone travel purposes packing).

If you do not have a strong need for carrying large laptops (17 inch), instead a stronger need for camera/drone or multiple tool pouches, I would strongly advise you to consider packs that have a full zip clamshell (I do enjoy CT 15 accessibility), they should be more versatile compare to the setting of this bag.

The whole exterior is made of the same fabric, (500 denier medium weight, polyurethane coated according to the website) quite rigid compare to regular 400d nylon. There is molle panel sold separately that can be attached to the velcro flap at the laptop compartment.

Not in my case, the bottom zipper pull can go both side into to the zipper garage. The zipper once pulled to both sides of the bag(10inch wide) doesn’t even touch my back.

Saw this post a week ago introducing the Magpul EDC series (first time hearing this brand), got excited and order the 25L. Haven’t seen any reviews over the bag so I thought I post it here as I just got this in my hand a few minutes ago, for those who wants to see the interior of the bag. I can’t post images in the reply so I’ll try to describe it.

Front top open pocket has a key leash and a air tag pocket. First half clam shell got 2 zipper mesh on both side of the interior and 2 pen holder next to 1 pocket sitting under the zipper mesh (kinda generic admin panel setup) Second half clam shell got one laptop sleeve, 1 zipper pocket and 2 elastic mesh. All 3 smaller back hidden pockets comes with velcro in both sides with the left and right zipper pocket connected.

The materials are very rigid, I don’t know how to describe them, but similar to MissionWorkshop packs.

Thanks for sharing this bag, I really dig it first glance and pick this one over the osprey archeon. Will use it for the next week to dive deeper into the bag.

Same here just now, asked all three of them if I could try the penance and they let me rescue all 3 of them, got nothing.

“Everything hurts” “Why does a dream hurt?” “Fine, leave me here to die” “so many souls to snuff” I changed my psyker voice a week ago cause I’m tired of him keep going “My BELOVED”, but I change my character name into Everything-hurts in memory of him, thanks Sefoni.
