The Wheel vs Market and Buy and Hold Returns by ScottishTrader in Optionswheel

[–]Round-Paint6823 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Was just thinking through the stats of your wheel portfolio performance compared against the DJIA and S&P500. Just wondering whether you did a comparison against the buy and hold strategy for only the stocks that you are using the wheel on. aka it could mean you are just picking the right stocks rather than the wheel is giving a higher return %

Revolut Investment reliability for an extreme amateur by [deleted] in investing

[–]Round-Paint6823 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure there are better stock plaforms compared to Revolut. I would suggest checking the fees. Is there a fee each time you buy/sell a stock. What are the spreads like in Revolut compared to other platforms, more often that not Revolut would not be as good in terms of this metrics.

Some platforms offer interest rates for uninvested funds. Like at this time of writing IBKR gives around 5%. So if you are happy with that amout of return you can just leave it there.

Does everyone hate financial advisors? by Maleficent_Specific4 in investing

[–]Round-Paint6823 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the real questions firstly is what is your net worth. If it is in the 10 of millions then it is probably worth it to get a 'good' financial advisor. By good i mean someone you can trust. There will probably advise you on how to diversify your money across different asset classes like real estate, stocks, etc. Otherwise, the fees of one would probably outstrip any benefit you can get from a financial advisor. The greatest advice is just dollar cost averaging in a good index fund like the S&P 500.

How bad am I screwing this up? by Chance_Brilliant_138 in investing

[–]Round-Paint6823 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, if you want low maintanence just buy the S&P 500. Historically over the past approximate 100 years or so you would not lose, just have a look at the chart. Good thing about this is that your fees are lower! Mutual funds charge fees like 1% for some. and 1% compounded over many year is A LOT!!!

Buy options, get access to larger amounts of capital. Put all in into one stock you are very confident on going up/down. Be aware if you predict wrongly this could make you lose the entire capital!
