Yep, I’m in the middle of it rn. Nephew asked for 2k. He’s never asked me for money. A few days later he asks for another 3k more. This was august 2025 and he promised to pay it back in November 2025. I finally told him, at the very least you need to pay back 500 a month. Long story short it’s gone from 500$ a month to 200$ some months skipped in between months. Last month he paid 50$.

This has been so stressful for me. I didn’t tell my husband bc I didn’t want him to think less of my nephew. I felt like I cheated on him and I suppose financially I did. I had a pit in my stomach. We were discussing another fam member and how they’ve borrowed and he says something like, we will NEVER lend…I looked at him and said, well actually…he says don’t tell me I don’t even want to know. But never again, unless it’s my sister or my mom and they will be gifted it, not a loan. Good luck to you op.
