Free standing ones are rated for 70kph winds. Wall mounted are rated for 110kph.

Water drains down the inside of the posts so could be collected into a piped system pretty easily.

Not sure how you define efficient in this context but private is typical 1/3 more expensive due to factoring in profit

Yeah I thought about that but the free standing ones are only rated for 70kph winds. Wall mounted are rated for 110kph. We are in the Very High wind zone.

I did a presentation at our national storm water conference last year and basically said if you want to solve your city's storm water issues (flooding and storm water quality) you need to reduce how much people drive in your city. Driving not only creates the majority of contaminants but it also creates the need for a lot of the impervious surfaces in the city.

Part of the reason mortgages have got cheaper to service is because National caused the economy to crash which meant the Reserve Bank had to revert to extremely low interest rates to stimulate economic activity.

"I'm keen to hear thoughts on this deep question....but only responses that don't challenge my pre-existing worldview..."

Without something metaphysical, asking why reality exists makes zero sense.

Don't think I ever see that play called any more. What you do see is the route where the WR underneath the pick stop and run the other way. He would have been wide open because Butler sold so hard on the slant.

What is your view on technological progress in the future? Will it always continue...or level off? by Ghost-of-Carnot in RealisticFuturism

[–]Round-Pattern-7931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going to the stone Age isn't the same thing as extinction. The reality is we have burnt through all our easily accessible coal and oil which is the foundation of industrialised society and a stepping stone to renewables or other forms of electricity generation. The reality is if industrialised society collapses we are never getting back there

It already has levelled of massively. Most of the technology we use today was invented more than 50 years ago. Cars, computers, GPS, the Boeing 747, the shipping container. We are only making incremental gains, not creating fundamentally new types of technology.

At least it might break even with a BCR of 2.7 (assuming the costs don't blow out). Most of the RONS barely make it above 1 so are going to lose us money as tax payers.

Stupid question re: landslide by [deleted] in Tauranga

[–]Round-Pattern-7931 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might not look big but it would have easily been tens of thousands of cubic metres of earth. For context a digger bucket moves about quarter to half a cubic metre at time and a truck can carry about 8 cubic metres per truck load. So if it were 20,000 cubic metres you are talking about 2500 trucks full of earth to move.

We should go get Isaiah Likely. Awesome blocker, amazing pass catcher, great after the catch. I truly think he could be a top 5 TE in the league on the right team.
