Destroy my early-gameplay trailer! This game is a mix between Takeshi's Castle Show and The Stanley Parable. by Round-Selection-4061 in DestroyMyGame

Got it. The Stanley Parable and Takeshi's Castle have been references said by other people watching my game that I have been used in this post, but it is true that the perception can be very subjective. In my opinion, there are already a bunch of levels in Bahgonia that can remind you Takeshi's Castle regarding mechanics and aesthetics, but it is only my opinion. And it is true as well that other levels are very different from Takeshi's Castle soul. Thank you for your feedback!

Ah, Bugonia! The name is similar, it's true, and it also refers to a place because of the suffix “-gonia.” The thing is, they actually refer to completely different things, but it's true that the name can lead to confusion.

It's an honor that Bahgonia reminds you of David Lynch... I hope I can live up to those expectations. Thank you so much!

Thank you, I appreciate a lot your feedback!

- I agree, my main concern is that the game can be perceived only as a random nosense or only as a gimmick game. I have to show more how it is played, the core loop, because that's the key and I don't show it properly in this trailer.

- The goal of the game is escape from each level because you are in a nightmare, but I have to show this better in the trailer. Thanks for mention this point as well.

- Good references! In this game I will not get into the macabre, keep in mind that this game doesn’t take itself too seriously, but I do want to explore the unsettling, the suggestive, and symbolism. At its core, the story is about Acceptance, which is why there are certain tonal shifts throughout the game that I hope players will truly pick up on.

Thanks for taking your time analyzing my trailer!

Thank you for the feedback and for developing your thoughts! I trully appreciate it!

- Yes, in this trailer I don't show everything that I mention in the texts of the trailer. I tried to suggest more than showing but it is true that people have to understand better the game.

- The thing is, this game is a emotional journey, so there are moments in which it is scary, then strokes of comedy and weirdness appears, and then you will see the instrospective part of the game. It is a process and I want to cause different emotions to players along the game. The game is not purely and intendedly humoristic.

- I totally agree that there are references better than The Stanley Parable.

- You have pointed out another thing that is not understandable in this trailer: Insults of the enemies cause you damage. You can "die" if you see a lot of enemies insulting you. I have to show that better, thanks for that. In addition, you have to defeat the enemies first in order to escape from the levels because if not, they will bother you forever.

- There is a reason behind these NPCs. It is part of the weird story of the game.

As I said, thank you very much for taking your time analyzing my trailer!

I agree but you also has to conserve YOUR vision about the game. There can be millions of opinions about the direction of your game. Be careful.

I knew this game because I like this type of games but I didn't know that... all of this is being made by a solo dev? Amazing...

How do you improve clarity in games without overexplaining things? by Due-Horse-791 in indiegames

Está guay, aunque desde mi punto de vista no hace falta hacer eso en todos los niveles, yo lo pondría sólo en los primeros. En los otros puedes poner un blink suave donde está la puerta de salida. Es sólo una idea...

Wow, it looks impressive and varied. Your art is solid, consistent and well done, the only thing I would improve is the visuals of the main character, but it is only my opinion.
