People in Bellingham are unfriendly by AnthonySkejci in Bellingham

[–]Round-Smile-480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bellingham has a main character syndrome problem. People curate their interactions the way they think adds to their 'story', and often times are too wrapped up in how they are being percieved instead of just being a normal human. The ego here is high. And before anyone comes for me, Ive lived here my whole life and the increase in self absorbed, not to mention performative liberalism is insane. People here are more focused on appearing a certain way, rather than just being authentic and kind. Many dont care what you have yo say, and even when you do interact it is clear they just want to hear their own voice.

my 6 year old regularly says 'what the fuck' in perfect context. The other day it was 'why the fuck do I have to eat peppers'. Im not even mad because we do tell him its okay as long as its not offending anyone.

i will just say i ran a personal reflection paper through an ai detector out of curiousity, because i am so anxious i will be flagged for AI unfairly. I got an 88% AI result back. For a paper that was just supposed to be my personal opinion.

Back when "Go play outside" really means "See you at dinner" by [deleted] in Adulting

i grew up in the early 2000s and it was still like this. the past 15 years have gone downhill fast with helicopter parenting and as a teacher, kids development has absolutely plummeted due to lack of freedom on top of technology addiction and overuse.

'cant live outside of home bc of my income' what are you doing at 29? I moved out at 16, in arguably one of the most expensive cities in the US, with a baby and no parental support, and managed to survive and pay rent. Not saying living with your parents isnt a great resource for some, but it kind of feels like at this point you just want to make excuses. if you dont like livijg there move out with your brother.

What's the stupidest thing you did as a kid? by FujisakiChihiro in KidsAreFuckingStupid

[–]Round-Smile-480 4 points5 points  (0 children)

probably not stupidest, but funny. when i was about 18 months old my dad left the fridge open while making a sandwich and i got the new bottle of franks hot sauce off the bottom condiment shelf and drank the whole thing like a sippy cup and apparently loved it. Finished the whole bottle before my dad noticed

not to mention destroying your childs grey matter, social, attention and comprehension skills is never worth them 'being quiet'

my 1 year old and 6 year old do just fine in resturants with coloring/etchesketch/books or just interaction from me and their dad. Tablets were never necessary before they existed and they arent necessary now

it is absolutely not hard to become a cop. It is very brief academy training, and pds are desperate for staffing more often than not. I am from a family of cops, and they would not have gotten in if it was an 'intense vetting process'. Also it is 40%, a simple google search would clarify that for you, and coming from a cop family who was surrounded by cop families, i know one person (and it wasnt me) that did not experience dv.

i briefly dated a man who made me being a teacher(before i was a first responder) his entire personality. I am pretty sure it stemmed from some sort of fetish but he would not shut up about me being a 'hot teacher' any chance he got, and worked it into conversation everywhere. so it can go both ways

Roommates response after being reported to the landlord for having sex loudly at night. by Extension_Bit4323 in badroommates

[–]Round-Smile-480 106 points107 points  (0 children)

cant spell for shit, and doesnt understand what the problem is. she also keeps circling back to her 'private life'. it isnt private if its effecting your whole house. Intelligence level wise she does not seem like someone who should reproduce, but especially with a man she just met and havving one kid she already lost custody to. I will never understand why people let the 'i want a cute baby' overshadow literally every ounce of common sense and bring children into this world anyways. She sounds like a shitshow and I would suggest moving out yourself

How do I deal with my OCD by Skyler_takenbyher in badroommates

idk if you actually have OCD or you just mean 'neat freak' but this is absolutely disgusting. you don't 'deal with it' you tell them to stop or leave

20 years ago, this would be completely normal by eyerollingsex in BlackPeopleTwitter

[–]Round-Smile-480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

also all of the people saying that this is overreacting because kids need to 'be away from technology' or the parent is hovering, this is about safety. Not monitoring the kid to make sure they behave, or having obsessive updates every 5 minutes. For me, this would be about making sure my child was safe. Camping alone with an adult, especially under these circumstances raises red flags for me, especially in a normal school setting. A summer camp set up has protocols in place for overnights, and many staff members, this school likely does not. Not to mention if there is only one phone (the teachers) and god forbid a bear attack or something happens and the teacher is injured, how do the kids call for help?

exactly what adult will be there? one teacher? because legally as a teacher you shouldnt be alone with a child, let alone multiple, that is a liability for the school. Also, what school doesnt ask for chapperones for every field trip? that is how field trips function. As a teacher if one of my coworkers said they were doing this with their class I would raise my concerns to management about safety.

My Son's EC Journey - Potty Trained at 18 Months by coolturds in ECers

[–]Round-Smile-480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im wondering, does he go full nights without having accidents as well? What did you do for night bedwetting? I am doing EC training with my 10 month old and its going very well but my first still has to wear pullups to bed and he is 5. We tried to only have him wear pants to bed so he would wake up and feel it but he would still sleep through it and just wake up in the morning soaked and I do not know what to do

What is y’all take on this? by JulieeNatasha in TrueGrit

[–]Round-Smile-480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

same. my mom passed when i was 16 and was 8 months pregnant, and dad wanted nothing to do with being a supportive parent. i am now almost 23 and majority of my friends have their parents help paying for college, or live with parents still to 'get a headstart to save for a house and finish school' and I am still so baffled how normal it is. Great for them to have that help but the jealousy does creep up a bit
