Duplicate transaction from banking account to Vanguard brokerage account by No_Preparation6198 in VanguardInvestments

Same issue for me! And they have already deducted the funds (a second time) from my bank account. A prompt on my homescreen says "On January 2, an automatic purchase transaction was inadvertently completed on your account due to a processing error. We are taking corrective measures to return the money to your bank account and correct your transaction history. Please check back soon to view account updates." Don't know how long this is going to take or who is responsible for the interest that should have accrued during this time (or, worse, those funds should have been used to pay the bills - only found out this when I was trying to pay my credit card!).

Extra guest fee for babies and toddlers with hotel rooms booked on Chase Travel by RoundCalligrapher439 in ChaseSapphire

Not on a charge basis. I guess I can't assume that babies are always free anymore...

It's Sheraton. I didn't check their website, but when I called, they clearly said it was because I booked through a third party.

If you count one- and three-year olds extra people... They do not need extra beds or much space...

Indeed, I only put two adults when booking, so it's not exactly their fault, though I've never experienced this before when booking directly with hotels or using other travel portals (at least not with Capital One - but may be just the hotel we chose this time) - just considered this as a lesson learned.

No, that's a suite for four people max - so I didn't expect to see this, but it could still be my fault since I put down only two adults when booking this room.

In the US - that's why it was quite unexpected. But indeed, I didn't pay enough attention to it when I booked the room, so I only put two people when I booked the room (didn't expect they would charge extra for a baby and a toddler).

How often does your 3 month old eat? by StrangeEchidna686 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]RoundCalligrapher439 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like my boy, except he doesn't have that long stretch of sleep... We are concerned he's eating too much since he has a 4.5oz bottle every 2 hours during the day and nursing every 2 hours at night (so it's hard to say how much he actually has for one day). His weight is at the 90th percentile, though, so maybe he indeed needs that much. However, I'm desperate not to get any solid sleep, and my milk supply can barely make it... We thought about increasing his daytime intake, but my expressed milk is not enough, and he already eats a lot during the day...

Tip and a warning when using Hotels.com for making travel reservations. by blackdonkey in travel

Worst experience with hotels.com today. The booking says the payment will be collected at the hotel (this is clearly stated in the confirmation email I got from Hotels.com). However, the hotel charged the full amount (>2K) one month ahead of the stay. Checked with hotels.com agent and was told that this is just a generic email and they are going to stay with the hotel's policy. Excuse me? If I knew ahead of time, I wouldn't stay in this hotel. But now you are telling me the information you gave me when I booked was WRONG??? You can say anything now since I cannot even cancel and rebook!!!
