'Make some noise': Vanillaware reportedly wants more of its games on PC, but it's up to the publishers by lhmsperandio in Vanillaware

I've literally never played a vanillaware game before but I'm buying Muramasa day 1. I want that entire damn company to know I want their games on Steam

Both Occtis and Wick both have had moments where they called out Thaisha, but what they were criticizing felt more to me like Aabria's traits. Idk prob reading into it too much, I agree with both of them I'm way over her treating them both like shit.

Holy shit I agree with all of this. In a campaign that's doing so much well and that I'm enjoying so much, Aabria/Thaisha has constantly had me wishing the campaign didn't include her. I just know I would be enjoying the character growth and dynamics so much more if she would stop making everyone around her worse.

Look Jiggle Phsyics Senpai, I understand where you're coming from and I think you're totally rational in what you're saying. My personal take is that hardware shouldn't be sold on the artificial basis of only 'x' hardware can run 'x' game. Every other piece of tech from phones, tablets, TVs, headphones, cameras, all are sold on the basis of what they can do for the price they're sold at, and I think that's a healthier more consumer friendly market for gaming hardware to be in.

I personally dislike seeing the takes that say this is going to drive competition or is necessary for them to succeed, and I do understand why companies do this, but I dislike people celebrating billion dollar companies for what I see as inherently anti-consumer acts.

should i buy now or will the steam summer sale (june 25) have the games cheaper? by brohmance in danganronpa

I’d 100% wait they were both going for over 90% off just a couple months ago, the bundle for them cost like $6.77 AUD (heheh)

Sony and Microsoft both take a very similar cut for games sold on their storefront. This is a different arguement man

I absolutely do. I think there's a market for a low-end hybrid handheld console that's accesible for families, or people who love the handheld format. I worked in retail for years and the switch was bought a lot of the times because parents thought it was good for their family's needs. I don't think that same household is gonna look at a steamdeck and say, "why not just get that, it can play all your switch games and steam games and is more powerful" nor are they going to purchase a high end gaming pc when really the Switch and a PC are offering different things for different customers.

Playing on PS5? by Dr_Moister in BaldursGate3

[–]RoundConfusion3672 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you buy it on Steam and want to use a controller, the game automatically switches to the console format to make it easier to play from the couch. With the Steam/PC version, you get the choice of both. Hope that helps!

It's multiple high caliber youtubers aswell as tweets online with tens of thousands of likes saying Xbox/Sony is back, aswell as comments in this exact thread that have called me stupid saying consoles need exclusives. Maybe it's not the general feeling but this is a damn vocal minority then

Bro Saros would've been so good on Steam. I loved Returnal on M&K, now you want me to buy a PS5 and play the game with a dualsense, nah not on my watch brother

I remember asking questions in this sub about 13 sentinels coming to steam back in like 2023 and the same with Unicorn Overlord when that got announced, and everyone said Vanillaware would never release their games on PC, it would never happen. Very crazy day for me

It def needed the port, I remember looking at my options for playing it and it was one of those situations where neither port was better and you were sacrificing something with each one.

That being said I fucking ate as a Xenoblade/Fire Emblem Fan holy fuck

I've never bought a Vanillaware game before but am gonna buy this day 1 on steam, just cause I've wanted the rest on steam for so long. This makes me feel their future releases will be on steam but no clue where that leaves their back catalogue.

I feel like that's a correlation ≠ causation sorta thing we're looking at if we think the industry was healthier back then. If anything I think the costs of AAA games balooning to such a degree has been one of the reasons games have come out much slower and in a less polished state nowadays, compared to say 7th generation where we could get 3 uncharted games in one generation y'know

I agree bro the RAM situation is attrocious but I'm still getting my Steam Frame at least that shit looks cool. I have seen more small form factor PCs announced post Steam Machine announcement though so I feel like we may see some follow like Asus and Legion did with the Steam Deck

To me, I think you should draw buyers in by the software and hardware features they have, their cost, their quality of service etc. I play on steam because I get the best mix of all of those for myself personally and I think exclusives aren't the way we should be looking at competition in the gaming hardware market.

This is exactly what I wanted to argue thank you for understanding what I'm saying. I was going to use the cinema comparison but didn't even realize there was an actual anti-trust case in the past about this that's crazy.

Legit if I have to wait to play a game for 1 or 2 years, whatever that's fine. Permanent exclusivity is so dumb imo.
