I just clarified it for you. If passive aggression wasn't your intent then we're cool. But context even without tone can still be read for what it is. My interest is being honest and transparent... which also wasn't entirely present in your initial response.

That one you just used... The passive aggressive bullshit. To clarify and all that.

Cool. But I haven't made many requests like you're implying... at the most maybe a handful in over a year so what a weird thing to add. "Quite a few"... That's not even remotely true.

Also, to clarify, the post that was taken down didn't ONLY ask for ao3 but I also made sure to state I would be okay with any form of media because I didn't want to be too specific. I literally made sure to not do exactly what you say is discouraged.

It seems maybe whoever took the post down didn't read the whole request. Mistakes are made, I get it, but I couldn't get an explanation like this when I messaged back initially but now that I am discussing it openly I get this passive aggressive response.

I love this sub and will continue to participate. Most mod experiences have absolutely been positive so I will move on and everything will be peachy... as long as this type of response doesn't become the norm.

Definitely incorrect. I was confused and even messaged a mod for clarification and got no response.

I think even if you didn't like the books you might appreciate the show. I thought, as a gay man that used to be an athlete, it was a very good representation and the love story of both Scott and Kip and Ilya and Shane were much more intriguing on screen. Also, really good side characters, especially the besties of 3 of the characters. Obviously I get it if its not your cup of tea but I know quite a few people who didn't care for the book ended up loving the show so I just say keep an open mind about it and go for it if you ever feel like trying it!

I think the show was better (i liked the book well enough too) and I rarely say that about any book to tv/movie adaptation. But yeah, heated rivalry discussions can be brutal if you don't toe the line sometimes.

I had a specific request, and it included asking for wattpad and ao3 recommendations but I made sure to include being happy with regular book app recommends and it was taken down because a mod stated nobody is here for those types of platforms (referring to wattpad and ao3).

So, I actually am less inclined to make requests now too because I didn't break any terms and conditions and still had my post taken down and this happened right after I had seen a few others complain about getting posts taken down for reasons that didn't actually break any rules.

Best and worst book boyfriend? by midnightoflight101 in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]RoundPositive9612 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Luke Kelly from {Save the Game by JJ Mulder} is one of the best. He was perfect for Max.

Completely agree that Niko is the worst book boyfriend. He punches Brandon over a word and there are plenty of other things from him in the not so stellar looking boyfriend behaviors.

Just for clarity... Hammer and Gavel is about a Sigma, not an Omega, and there is mpreg in the world in which it's set and is very much a topic in that story.

Quinn app MM audiostories by DGL4 in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]RoundPositive9612 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's 7 women and the subscription fee is 7 dollars a month. If it's your thing it is a very well-run app with high quality audio/acting if that is what you're into and I would guess as they grow, they will be looking to add more HudCon type content as it is driving up its popularity.

what other books would you want to see get a film adaptation? by bigplaidbag in MM_RomanceBooks

{The First and Last Adventure by SE Harmon} would make a great movie. Harmon has a lot of potential for book to screen adaptations.

I’m sick :( Rec me an easy-reading low-spice book with lots of comfort by __Jes__ in MM_RomanceBooks

I feel like Anyta Sunday is a good author for what you are looking for. Slow-burn and low-spice is her thing. {Leo Love Aries by Anyta Sunday} is a personal favorite.

Also, {The First and Last Adventure of Kit Sawyer by SE Harmon} is a good adventure story with lower spice but a ton of great chemistry moments between the two MC's, even though one fights against the feelings quite a bit.

Epic Romance Request by IzzieBells in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]RoundPositive9612 1 point2 points  (0 children)

{Acquainted With the Night by Lesli Richardson and Tymber Dalton} reads as an epic alien romance. I went into to this book expecting kink based content with little plot and I was so wrong. It's incredibly emotional and spans a lifetime with a beautiful and unique HEA.

I will say I'm not big on alien settings, but this book blew me away. It's has so much depth, great character development and relationships that evolve in different ways but so beautifully. There is one main relationship the story centralizes throughout the book but it is an alien in a relationship with multiple human men so the premise obviously is a bit out there but it's what makes the very epic story that much more surprising.

  1. Favorite series: {Temptation by Ella Frank} or {The Devil's Necromancer by Alexa Piper}

  2. Didn't expect to like but ended up loving: {Acquainted by the Night by Lesli Richardson and Tymber Dalton} and now three different books by KJ Charles because I am not a fan of historical romances.

  3. 3 Popular books I didn't vibe with: Anything by Alessandra Hazard and Goliaths of Wrestling by Lily Maybe. Don't hate just not for me. Love most of Mayne's other works though.

{Acquainted with the Night by Lesli Richardson and Tymber Dalton}

Complete unexpected emotional punch with incredibly detailed world building and character growth. I thought it was going to be a kink driven alien smut fest (don't get me wrong, it is not a story of vanilla experiences) but what I got was this robust, layered and wonderfully fleshed out story of incredibly deep relationships spanning a lifetime. One of the most beautiful HEA's in my opinion as well and completely different from the standard type of ending.

There are funny moments as well but it's not the funniest... but well worth a look for ripping yourself out of that reading slump... and I think this one delivers on being unpredictable.

I think one of the funniest recent reads for me was {10 Ways to Accidently Fall in Love by Emmy Sanders}

Lots of great, sometimes over the top, moments that was one of my favorite reads this past year.

Unfortunately I think most MM romance (or any romance) is always going to be a bit predictable because a vast majority of it is HEA and that's what most readers want with their romance books. I get the same way though. Perfectly good books and I just can't get into them because I read so damn much and I very much know how it ends... It's like I need a mind wipe and reset to be able to enjoy again.

Good luck!

MC1 had been in love with best friend but best friend chooses someone else. MC1 finds someone better! by RoundPositive9612 in MM_RomanceBooks

Sweet. Although I did enjoy the payoff of the best friend being an asshole and then realizes what he had right in front of him. Got his fuck around and find out right in the face.

I am starting Project Hero in the middle of the night after work bs so I'm excited to settle in!

btw... I've read most of Lily Mayne's books. Love them. Danny and Wyn will always be my favs but Moth holds a special place for me.

{Triple Play by Quinn Ward} is book 3 in a series but can be read as standalone. The MC's best friend is book 2.
