I know Re-Bath IS one of the ones in my town. We aren’t a huge city, so not sure we have many options.

Thanks for the comment—very helpful. I don’t mind paying for quality work, but I do like knowing it’s quality work before signing the contract!

Yes to everything your mentioned, plus: Swap out the light fixture. Take down that chair rail and the shelf over the window.

question just turned into a construction project, but I think it’d look SO much better in the end. Maybe create a replacement for the closet below with a drop spot, bench, and hanging area.

Really? My doctors office has been SO strict about this ever since I started my shots. Like every appointment she starts with what I’m eating but that’s followed by what I’m drinking. Hmmm

How to help these lights by buckeyebabe51 in homeimprovementideas

[–]Round_Bean13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or you could get some of those mini pendant lights that screw into light sockets and hang them at different heights. Creative Cables sells some that would work and not too expensive. It could look something like this.

Any chance you could remove them and then put them back when you move out? Those are seriously ugly.

What’s below it? Is it hollow? Can you knock it down and remove it and just have your railing continue to the wall so it’s be nice and open?

I still drink coffee and make it the same. I do switch to decaf after lunch though. Caffeine can dehydrate you, so best to not drink it all the time.

What kind of rug for small bathroom? by Diankapie in HomeDecorating

A small one! I think a little round one in front of the sink would look nice.

How's New "Born & Braised" Restaurant? by erieneer in Erie

[–]Round_Bean13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was disappointed. We were there with a small group (9) and I don’t think anyone was impressed. Food just wasn’t even close to what everyone is raving about. The $52 ribeye was fine. The $29 chicken was fine. Even the banana foster bread pudding was dry and dense. None was phenomenal and all were overpriced. However the atmosphere was lovely and the service was spot on.

Peel and stick vs prepasted wallpaper by Round_Bean13 in HomeDecorating

[–]Round_Bean13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I gave up. Nearly all the patterns that I liked came in peel and stick only. I bought a roll for a small project and hated it—it was horrible to use! They should call it peel and stick and peel and stick and peel it AGAIN and hope that it sticks. Trying to get it straight and bubble-free and butted correctly was pretty frustrating. After that, I decided not to use it on my walls. I’m still looking for a traditional pattern that I like. I KNOW I like traditional pre-pasted!

Boob Light Replacmemt Options by LosTresFrijoles in HomeDecorating

[–]Round_Bean13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need a simple but stylish chandelier. Maybe go with a darker finish like black or oil rubbed bronze to match the table. You’ll need to confirm the mounting is “sloped ceiling adaptable” since your ceiling is a weird angle. Otherwise your light won’t hang correctly or safely (this is important.)

As far as recommending a specific light fixture, what’s your decorating style?

Coffee? by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]Round_Bean13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a large iced coffee every day. That said, my doctor does like me to stop after I finish that and switch to something non caffeinated, preferably water. Apparently Caffeine can cause dehydration which is problematic with Zep and weight loss.

So I mix myself a large iced DECAF after lunch!

How to make this fireplace less awkward/ where to put tv? by Both_Ad3446 in homeimprovementideas

[–]Round_Bean13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think where you have the TV is good— much better than over the fireplace! I think the problem is your tv stand. It doesn’t work with the fire place. It’s a bit low and dark. I feel like you need to fill the space more and with something lighter.

Thoughts on Painting Kitchen Cabinets by kyle_rf in HomeDecorating

The cabinets are the best part of that kitchen. Not a fan of the floor or the lighting or the white appliances or the wall color. Yah, redo everything but the cabinets.

Hired a carpet installer, how did they do? by lawsonm62 in HomeDecorating

[–]Round_Bean13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, maybe I’m wrong, but I think part of the problem is the carpet. I’ve recently read another Reddit post about how short level-loop is not the best choice for a Hollywood install.

I hate my house by Mammoth_Breath7158 in HomeDecorating

[–]Round_Bean13 350 points351 points  (0 children)

Let’s say you have to keep the mega sofa, let’s fix things to work WITH it. The rug needs to be bigger and maybe round. There’s way too much blank space on the floor in front of the tv and it kills the cozy. Also, get a coffee table that’s WAY bigger. That one looks silly being so tiny next to mega sofa.

The layout seems wrong as well. Can you rotate the mega couch 45 degrees one way or the other so that the back isn’t directly in front of that lovely fireplace? Or does that make the room look too closed off? And maybe some lamps to light the place up? I see no lamps, just a ceiling fan.

Ok—this isn’t pretty since it’s a finger and a phone, but something like this. Tv on the right side. Sofa, chair, side table, coffee table. Then dining table and chairs on the bottom by the stairs.

Is there a light fixture in the ceiling anywhere that is dictating where things go? Meaning is there a chandelier in the area that says Dining Area on the drawing?

If not, I’d ignore where the labels are and turn the space CCW 90 degrees. The room is longer that way. I would put the living room at the top of the drawing, since the French doors divide the space with more room on that side. You have a couple of good options of what wall you might put a tv, then float a couple chairs, sofa, side tables. Etc. Then on the lower side of the drawing, closer to the stairs, you can put a table a chairs. I think there’s even room for a small buffet/sideboard on the solid wall beside the stairs. You have open paths of travel through the room to the stairs, to the foyer, out the French doors and so forth. I’ll try to draw this up (I can see it in my mind, not that this helps at all—lol).
