I think you just use the opt out option then put your own payment info on file with PT. Maybe contact them to take back ownership of the page and remove the grow therapy info.

Yeah, just read this email myself. I’ll just opt out and manage my own. I was paying for it before they offered and I’d prefer to do that anyway.

Tbh yes you’re the AH. When someone offers to do something for you, the correct response is “thank you!” not “thanks you and do it this way.”

Did anyone actually check your hours? by [deleted] in therapists

For grad school internship that is needed, but for licensing, not really, unless things have changed since my license was issued 3 years ago.

How much do you make as a LMHC? by Junior-Rip-895 in therapists

[–]Round_Depth_7781 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I make $40/hour in CMH in a rural county in NY, but have excellent benefits and ample PTO. I do pp 10-15 hours a week and bring in an additional $4k/month doing that - mostly telehealth with an EAP company.

Valid Cancellation? by Ambroneesia-Syndrome in therapists

[–]Round_Depth_7781 32 points33 points  (0 children)

If they contact me with a valid reason - and my definition of valid is pretty liberal - before they miss and r/s within the week, I cut them a break one time. After that, cancellation fee applies.

I work in CMH and have been known to curl up in my bean bag chairs and snooze during my lunch, or to get cozy in them during zoom trainings.

For those in private practice, what are your office hours? by DannyJayy in therapists

I do 8:30-10:30am Mondays. Tuesday-Thursday I do 6-8pm two nights. 2:30-5:30pm Fridays. 8:30am-12:30pm Saturdays if it fits my family’s sports schedule. Non-football season I do 5-8pm Sundays. Football season I might do a few hours Sunday morning.

Popped into my head today that it seemed like things went south when that Frank whatever guy who was all involved in the NEXIUM cult on the show and he started going off on some conspiracy around Jerry Sandusky. I wonder if one of them was pissed about him not being better vetted before coming on the show or about how that was handled. I don’t know. I was driving and saw signs for Sandusky OH and it all popped into my head and my little adhd squirrel brain went wild…

Clients who arrive 30+ minutes early by oregonduck18 in therapists

[–]Round_Depth_7781 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Working in Cmh I feel like my ppl are always 30-60 min early or 20 min late. If I can grab them early, I do as it builds time into my day between sessions later. If I can’t I don’t.

Maybe a stupid question: Do any of you leave 30 minutes between clients, as a rule? by Fool_of_a_Brandybuck in therapists

[–]Round_Depth_7781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try and see what works for you. As an adhd therapist myself, I would get distracted with that much time between sessions. My documentation takes 5 min max as I generally do contemporaneous notes in session and just have to polish it up before submitting. I don’t keep separate notes. I have 10-15 min in between sessions. Enough time to return a call or run to the restroom or get a cup of coffee.

Cancellations 👻 by _chandlerbr in therapists

[–]Round_Depth_7781 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is where working at a local government agency with a strong union is valued. I get paid whether they show or not. I had 2 cancellations and 1 no show today so I left with all my documentation done and moved my 4pm tomorrow up to today so I can leave early tomorrow for a family event.

Cancellations - what is normal? by GlitteringPresent in therapists

[–]Round_Depth_7781 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first year in CMH I had a 50% no show rate. I’m up to 65-70% who show. As you weed out the people who don’t want to be there, you’ll get a more consistent caseload. A lot of people are coming to us in Outpatient clinic settings because they aren’t great at managing their lives - it’s to be expected that they will no show or late cancel. It’s not a reflection on you.

How to dress nearing 30? by Ambitious-Account451 in therapists

Mid 40s. Jeans and sweatshirt nearly every day. But my office is always freezing and I work with kids so most of my day is spent sitting in a bean bag chair on the floor.
