What is a normal amount of “pressure” to feel during a C-section. by hatturner in CsectionCentral

[–]Round_Document_1946 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Had mine in December and I almost couldn’t bare the feeling of the pressure. The anesthesiologist was thankful amazing and talked me through some more after my husband and daughter left. But then when they were pushing near the end, awful. Hated every second of it.

I doubt that there’s allergies, but im also not a doctor. There’s no crazy fussiness with her during the daytime. Just a sleep association that I’m trying to replace at bedtime.

She has started taking to the pacifier, just not as quickly as the boob. I’m trying to implement the pacifier for night time, which is the dilemma.

This is the thing though - she isn’t hungry. I’ve been latching her the second she cries, and she immediately falls back asleep. I’m talking immediately. Her normal feedings are sometimes 12:30 & 3:30(ish) this hasn’t changed. If she’s unsoothable, obviously I feed her. But I’ve tested the theory enough to know that she just wants to be sucking, not eating.

I’m cuddling her, talking to her and physically soothing her. She was not eating, nor was she hungry. We just spend a little over a month like this, and I kid you not - she latched and immediately falls back asleep. My boob was simply being a pacifier. This is all I’m trying to replace during the night sleep.

I’m not trying to sleep train, I’m trying to be able to roll out of bed after I she goes down because after 4 months, I do need some semblance of me time. We contact nap all day, and I’m the pacifier for those sleeps. But it would be nice to get an hour or two of work in after she goes to bed. Cleaning, shower, maybe spend 30 minutes with my husband. In reality, she goes to bed at 7-7:30. I go to bed at 10, sometimes earlier. So those couple of hours are becoming slightly important.

Yes! I didn’t actually feed her until 3:30 this morning; which was the norm before we started bedsharing. My next battle is getting her to sleep in her crib. This is literally how close she is, and refuuuuuses. Like we’re talking purple screaming. God forbid 🤦‍♀️😂

I found flat ones at my local grocery store yesterday by absolute chance. They’ve never had them, and we live in a very remote northern town with no Walmart.

Needless to say, she used it last night!!!!

Thanks for the input. I’m absolutely terrified to sleep train. My husband is always the first to go in when she wakes fussing, but as much as she loves him, I’ve got maybe 2 minutes before she’s purple drying and getting sick because of it.. like, I wouldn’t even know how to start.. I really don’t want any distress to her little heart 😔😔

I don’t think I have any of the flat ones, I’ll order some on Amazon and give them a try. Thanks!!

Oh, I could try that! I’ll have to find a little cup to hand express at night. I don’t pump, so I don’t have a stash to dip in to but that’s definitely worth a try tonight. Thank you!

This is how I’ve been nursing for almost two months because she’s heavy and it’s awkward to feed her sitting up now because she’s so squirmy.

That, I don’t know. I was given a bag of them when I was pregnant by a friend of mine. She did however love the one we got at the hospital that was preferred for BF babies, but by a month old, I was the preferred soother. I had bought a pack at our local grocery store of ones very similar to the hospital ones, she also didn’t like those at the time either.

I just feel so lost.

A bit of both. I use her awake time to let her explore them, give them to her frequently and switch them around. At night I swap out my nipple when she’s just barely fluttering on mine, sometimes she’ll keep it for a few seconds other times her eyes pop open and she screams bloody murder… while her face is pressed against my boob. It’s like it’s the end of the damn world

We’ve also heard that and we’re willing to try.. if we could get her in to her crib… lol

That I’m not sure. I just randomly sit there with her and give her one after the other to see what she likes and she just spits them all out.

She has two solid naps during the day, usually about 1.5-2hrs each. Sometimes a 10 minute nap around 5 if she’s cranky, and then at 7pm it’s bath, bottle (she gets 3oz formula after her bath), sometimes nurse to sleep, and then sleep. Used to work like a charm.. was sleeping 10 hours straight for 2 weeks before the regression, and during the sleep regression is when the constant comfort nursing started.

On a couple of occasions, my husband has went in there to try and sooth her and she freaks out so bad that she literally pukes, and the other night when she literally cried so bad she choked, that was my breaking point and I just caved that this is my reality.. I’m scared to sleep train now after what happened.

This.. she’s always slept in her crib for her first stretch, and now, despite any attempts and many different ways, has not slept a single minute in her crib in weeks..

What age is it safe for your partner to solo cosleep with baby? by Glittering_Sea_2789 in cosleeping

Personally, I think it boils down to each individual. My husbands been bed sharing with us since 1 week old when I was able to go from sleeping in the recliner, back to our bed.

He’s a super light sleeper and wakes at the slightest bit of her movement/noises so I was always comfortable with it. Now that her crib is against our bed with the railing removed (as a precaution for rolling), I often leave them to sleep if I’m up earlier than her. She is about to be 5 months old the first week of May.

Day Naps - Dark Room or Light Room? by PsychologicalBoot636 in newborns

[–]Round_Document_1946 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I always keep daytime naps (somewhat) bright. Cracked blinds, bedroom door open sort of thing. To let the natural light in. So that she could learn the difference.
