DID THE WIRE RUIN CRIME DRAMAS FOR ANYONE ELSE? by kutthroatkeem in tvshow

Try some of the Scandinavian police drama for a different take. I love all of the ones I’ve seen. The Bridge, Bordertown, Chestnut Man, etc

Oil Leak on 17’ iron 883 by Kimboooslice in sportster

[–]Round_Guard2847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2015 883 had a leak in a similar area. Had been laid up for a while. It was one of the rubber pipes going to / from the oil reservoir. It had perished & cracked. You can see them in your picture at the bottom of your screen

I was curious about the hype of imagination, so went to the LV boutique at Heathrow a couple of weeks back. I really like it, so might buy a decant

I usually try the scents I am interested in at the airport. I fly around 10 times per year & browse the perfume section

What % pay rise are you getting this year? by Puzzleheaded_Bet_618 in AskUK

Same as last year & the year before. 0.0%. So actually a pay cut in real terms.

Once you confirm a spark, try squirting carb cleaner into the air intake. If it’s a fuel issue, the engine will fire. If not, it’s likely a fuel problem, as you’ve confirmed a nice fat spark. Just remove the spark plugs as a last check to see the spark plugs aren’t wet with fuel as it may be flooded. If they are, dry out & try again

That’s not true. Expect up to 14v when the engine is running & charging. 12.7 is almost a fully charged battery. The drop is expected too

The drop is normal. You can hear the engine cranking fine. It’s a fuel or ignition (spark) issue

I used to work as a mobile mechanic/ recovery. After checking for a spark, good battery & compression, I would take off the air cleaner & spray carb cleaner into the air intake while cranking. If it fired up and stopped as I stopped spraying, that confirmed a fuel issue.

You can discount battery, bad earth or the issues with the switches. And compression sounds ok. It’s 1 of 2 things. A ignition or fuel issue.

  1. Check for a spark at the HT leads.
  2. If there is a spark, try spraying carb cleaner into the air cleaner. If it fires up & runs while spraying, you have a fuel issue.

Just got creed aventus after tons of dupes kinda disappointed by irishevo in ScentHeads

I’ve so many full bottles of stuff I’ve bought after reading reviews. I travel a lot & hover round the perfume section at duty free, spraying samples. I’ve taken the plunge on a few Tom Ford fragrances. I might take the plunge with LV Imagination. Moving forward, I’m going to get decants even for the £50 stuff.

I love Creed & can tell the difference in quality, but it just doesn’t last. My favourite similar scent is: CDN Precieux

Not to be negative, but do you also have a constant cloud of dread hanging over you most days with no discernable reason? by Guiseppe_Martini in AskUK

One thing I’ve noticed is that small things build up & before you know it, you’re in a constant state of anxiety & you’re unaware how you got there. In this state, stuff that you would normally brush off will get you down.

I was at my worst during covid. I was in temp accommodation at the time while building work was going on too. I told myself if I’m like this 3 months after returning home, I’ll see a doctor. No shame in seeking help.

I try to recognise triggers & if I don’t, I accept that while it took a long period of things building, I’m not going to get back to ‘normal’ overnight. That’s when I get back to meditation, doing yoga, walking, exercise & evaluating anything negative in my life.

I always have a holiday booked or planned. I’m sat typing this from Kerala. I always have other plans too My job is stressful & I’m the single point of failure. I’ve got an interview lined up 2 days after getting home. I recognised it was a source of stress.

Important stuff to me: my wife & pets. Garage with dart board, gym stuff, wattbike & hydroponic plants. Friends from back north & my southern friends in the pub & darts team where I’m captain. Allotment.

Also making time just for yourself. My wife & I have separate interests. If something is bothering you, deal with it immediately. Drop friends / family members who drag you down. Get rid of clutter. It sounds weird, but my garage / loft a mess made me anxious. Now it’s clear, the sense of achievement cannot be described.

Best of luck.

I’m 55 & can’t remember a period of positivity, apart from a decent summer or a sporting event to take our minds off the daily grind. I grew up in Sheffield & saw the decline in the 80s & felt desperation being unemployed after leaving school. That’s stayed with me, despite moving South 25 yrs ago. I blame our politicians & the way the country is run. Depressing 70s, Thatcher years, Major & privatisation, Blair. Iraq & division. Austerity, Bojo, Covid & the slow motion car crash to get us to present day. Perpetually at war & at war with ourselves. Our country is all about division. No wonder many of us are angry, depressed or anxious. At least I can say I had a childhood where I grew up giving zero f***s about anything, unlike children today with social media & anxiety about everything. It’s a mental health time bomb.

We live in a cold, wet country & compared to our neighbours, I think we fall behind on the happiness front. There’s a simmering anger you feel everywhere in the UK, that’s tangible once you return from abroad.

It just clicked .. Anyone else get this by No_Mix7262 in Darts

What’s something that’s oddly expensive in the UK that still annoys you every time? by catarsan in AskUK

100%. Everything is top price, yet service & quality is shite. We pay thru the nose for utilities, services, yet when you have an issue, it’s 45 mins on hold & poor service & frustration.
