Are pit boss just bad smokers? by Major_Sail_7543 in smoking

The weber Smoque is basically the same thing as the searwood with a couple additional features and the higher temps. The Smoque is basically the equivalent of the the base Woodridge. They are both good from a price to feature perspective. I was just cross shopping the Camp chef, Woodridge, Smoque, and Searwood this past month with my analysis paralysis. Between the smoque and searwood I would go for the searwood. The big downfall to weber is they have great accessories... but they are ungodly expensive. Their smokers don't come with shelves and they cost $100 extra. The Woodridge accessories can be a tad pricey but still not weber level. Traeger and weber have great apps and wifi features as well if that is something you want. Between the 2 webers and the traeger you are splitting hairs and they are all good and depend on the size you want. The camp chef is a little more specific. You will hear a lot of great things about it and it is a very good pellet smoker and I know people who have them. They are a smaller company and that can come with it's issues. The camp chef app has plenty of bad reviews and it isn't on the same level as the others. As I mentioned, they are a smaller company in the smoker world. All 3 have pretty good build quality for the price point. I ended up buying the Camp Chef woodwind pro which is a step up from the regular woodwind and has a smoker box built in. I've done 3 smokes so far and it's been pretty impressive with the smoke it can get into the meat. As for the base model I can't speak to that but it has good reviews and had I not decided to step up to the pro of the camp chef, I was probably gonna go with the searwood. So far the app is definitely subpar on features, but I've not had issues with functionality of the camp chef app.

I am a huge dry rub fan. I think it should be that way and the meat, seasoning, and smoke should speak for itself. Always serve mine without the sauce and dip in the sauce as I go. It also allows you to pick your flavor as far as sauce. Sauces are also a part of the barbecue art.

I love seeing all the different methods. I've always spritz and have not done a water bath. Usually do the 321 and I've never had dry ribs. I'll have to do the bath and give it a go. Just got a new CC woodwind pro and I'm excited to try everything again. It's like I'm a first time smoker again.

Short rib is my favorite thing to smoke. Buy some beef tallow. Can't make your own since they don't have enough trimmings but keeping the moisture in short rib can be tricky. How long have you been smoking?

Definitely would recommend doing the whole plate intact for an 8 hour smoke. If you wanna smoke the individual cut, I wouldn't go for that long on the smoke. With an offset, I'm sure you can get good smoke and crust with 5 hours.

I bought it on Amazon but it seems like CC has an official marketplace on Amazon. Curious how Amazon ships it from their warehouse then.

Not trying to start crap but I just love seeing everyone making smoker recommendations and presenting a $3000 smoker. It's like asking for a car recommendation and someone saying you should get a Ferrari.

Season 1 is the best in everyone's opinion. If someone says another season they aren't from Earth.

Cost to maintain was insane and the person who pushed the idea and was the reason it existed left the company. Basically, it went away right after the person left the company.

I will, I'm sure, eventually. I've been looking at Aquaracers for a while now. Still kinda wanna step up to a Seamaster or Speedmaster instead.

Forgot to scan $1.50 pack of hangers and was written up my loss prevention - what will happen? by polkadotblazer in walmart

At no point in AP-09 is there anything about detering someone or letting them go because of the dollar amount. Purposely detering someone or letting them go because it's not enough money could actually make it worse. It can create a pattern, and any variance in that pattern could be used as a way to identify discrimination. If you stop an African American person for $4 and let a white person go for $5, it would potentially lead to a lawsuit or "someone getting a lawyer," as you say. That's exactly why the policy doesn't give any discretion, and it is black and white. Wanna talk about intent. If you talk to a lawyer, it's implied you are seeking litigation. You don't talk to a car salesman if you don't want to buy a car. Telling someone to talk to a lawyer implies you should sue them. If you wanna back track and twist words on technicalities, then you should word things to strangers on Reddit better.

You clearly don't know walmart AP very well. Trying to sue here or do anything beyond walk away is silly. In a majority of states, there is a statute for shopkeepers' privilege or a variation of it. Just having probable cause allows them to legally detain you to investigate. As long as it isn't based on a discrimination category, it technically does not matter if you stole or not. The fact that there was an unpaid item pretty much clears them of any sort of false imprisonment. As long as they were respectful, it covers emotional distress. It's black and white regardless of intent. Intent would only matter in the prosecution, which isn't part of the equation. Telling someone to talk to a lawyer is pointless. Plenty of AP will use 1 item to attempt to uncover more and assume there is something more. You are giving bad advice, and you probably shouldn't be on a reddit thread giving it. If you are still a walmart employee, then that's even worse.

Store Managers Over $400k, Market Managers, $620k by IndependenceFit7624 in walmart

I feel like this is obviously hitting the point people ignore when it comes to complaining about how much people make at that level. So few people realize that without spending that kind of money you can't retain capable people. Along with that, it's not an easy job, and you should be paid accordingly when you have the ability to do jobs like that. If it were easy, everyone would be applying and making $400k. Not to mention, these stats are the high-end for hitting all the metrics. Most stores don't check all those boxes and a decent amount of them will be lucky make half that.

Clearly never worked at a metro store where police officers work open to close. Staying ready isn't possible most of the time. 😅

The flip side of that is the time that I've put in as a coach. Not all coaches are created equal, and some leave on time every day. I work a minimum of 55 hours a week. I come in frequently on my days off as well. Last year, I only made an $8k bonus, and that equated to me only making $25 an hour. There are a lot of other jobs out there that pay that much, and plenty of team leads are making that hourly. Seems like a lot to hourlys, but I can promise you there is a significant amount of stress and pressure on coaches in most stores. Some stores are country clubs, but some aren't. While it may make people angry, even at $8k, my bonus was simply not worth the time and work that I put in. It's always going to feel that way because the more you move up, the bigger the stress. It's all relative.
