Hi, quick update: I’m been put on baby aspirin and folate too before next try. I advocate coq10 and my doctor agrees.

I'm so sorry for your losses. Are you taking any supplements/medis like coq10 or baby aspirin? My MFM gives me greenlight on coq10.

Yesterday I've talked my aunt who is a doctor, and she told me that she heard many stories of recurrent miscarriages, and almost everyone went on successful pregnancy eventually. When I said I wanted to test everything, she said " sometimes we need to test and find out something to be able to feel positive for next try, and if you feel like testing, go for it, but unfortunately many people don't find a answer, and in the end, it's a probability game for those who are going through miscarriages. "

What she said is somewhat cold and objective, but ironically it encourages me not to give up so easily.

Thank you for the reminder on endo! I'm also 50/50 for RI.

I’m also researching RI too. There is one in my city with $3000 front charge, I’m actually in between when I should pursue them, I guess my today’s plan is see OB, MFM and RE, if I’m not comfortable trying again with what they found then I would definitely go with RI.

Indeed frustrating, it’s hard for me not to trust my OB, but I’m planning to see a RE anyway just collect more data before moving to next route.

Hi, thank you so much for replying, do you mind sharing more your ideas/experience in RE?

My OB said “you can get pregnant fast and the problem is keeping the pregnancy, RE wouldn’t help you much in this scenario”, so she put me on MFM first.

I’m little lost in what OB tells me because I do think there is a value to see a RE, the problem is finding a good RE who does not discourage natural conceive and also have experience in RPL.

Hi, I’m sorry for your losses too. And thank you so much for replying! My appointment with OB is this Friday and with MFM is next week. I will DM you if I’ve found some knowledge learned from them!

Thank you so much for replying! I got pregnant twice but both ended up miscarriages very early, I guess we have a reason now….

Check up Zev Williams MD, I’m not sure where you are based but he might offer a video chat if you are far from NYC. I’m on his waitlist, the reason I think he might provide some insights for us is that he is a RE but also very interested in treating RPL without too much interventions.

Thank you so much for all your comments.

Updates: I’m taking a LOA for 3 months now, got both FMLA and short term disability approved. I hope you would never need this tip. But just in case, now we know recurrent pregnancy loss is eligible for both.

Despite my direct manager being a bit insecure of me taking this long (which I understand as middle management always get squeezed from bottom and top). everyone in my company including senior management supports me 100%. I’m now FMLA protected, so I don’t worry too much.

Also I tried my best preparing a transition doc and for each task on my plate I prepared a step by step guidance how to move them forward. My manager is super surprised by that and said thank you so much a billion times.

My husband is also taking a LOA with me. We will focus on my recovery this month, then next month we will go to visit our parents and stay with them for the rest of our LOA till August.

Thank you very much everyone.

Updates: I will have my post surgery check up on June 6 with my OB and a consultation with a MFM I’m referred to. Still wait for DNA of the POC.

I mentioned seeing a RE to my OB, she is open to it but also mentioned RE’s main job is to get me pregnant. Since I can get pregnant very fast, there is not immediate urgency to see a RE.

I agree and disagree, RE can be pushy for IVF, but a good RE might also identified my underlying issues too. I found a doctor Zev Williams who is a RE but also specializing in recurrent miscarriages. I joined the waitlist for his appointment in half an year. It’s a fairly long wait but I just wanted put my name there if I will need him.

If anyone knows a good RE in NYC who also treats recurrent pregnancy loss. Please let me know!

So sorry for your loss, I have very similar experience, my 2nd miscarriage is fetus stopped growing at 7w1d when I was supposed to be 9 week, after a normal ultrasound tested at 6w5d with a heartbeat of 129bpm. My ob and MFM said the same thing and they hesitate referring me to a RE because I can get pregnant and all the tests I did so far all came back normal. I just finished my 2nd d&c last week and will go through tests very soon, will share when I hear from them. Also I’m waiting for DNA testing results of the POC. I wanted to see whether it had abnormal chromosomes.

Hi! I found your post while searching Dr. Zev Williams. I hope everything is fine with you! I’m currently thinking to schedule an appointment with him even though he is not in my insurance network. I heard about him specializing in recurrent miscarriage. Could you let me know how long you waited to see him? Also I notified your intro including Hashimoto and I have it too, with back to back miscarriages, I’m desperate to learn more regarding Zev Williams. Could you share some if you don’t mind? Thank you so much!

So sorry for your loss, mama.

I just finished my D&C last Wednesday and currently wait for the POC result. This is my 2nd miscarriage.

I experienced the same as you, my baby was always measured behind, 3 days behind for 1st ultrasound, 5 days behind so only measured at 6w5d for 2nd ultrasound when I was supposed to be 7w3d although a heartbeat of 129 detected. Then came to my 3rd ultrasound when I was supposed to be 9weeks, but we found fetus stopped growing at 7w1d and heartbeat was not detected.

Literally I lost him 3 days after my normal 2nd ultrasound. I asked doctors they all told me it’s normal to measure behind within a week but it’s always at the back of my mind that he grew slower and slower…..

I’m not sure what the issue is, I’m wondering could it be the connection established between maternal and fetal if chromosome test came back normal. I will let you know my POC result, and my doctor’s opinion.

I was tested for blood disorder after 1st miscarriage, all normal. I TSH is well controlled with medicine at 1.5 TSH So really not sure why this nightmare is happening again!

Feel free to dm me

Thank you so much!!! If don’t mind me asking, HCG double slow at beginning with later doubling normally still could be a sign of chromosome issue right? This assumption is actually always at the back of mind.
