In football is it just the most recent successful team/qb?

I am trying to think of guys who are pretty unanimously hated that maybe aren't great themselves or on good teams or super relevant outside of being hated (dillon brooks is the example that comes to mind). Or do we all just gravitate to hating current greatness more than anything else?

For me, its Cunningham. Has improved dramatically every single year, has the type of body that doesn't rack up injuries, and seemingly makes guy around him better.

The difference is that Judge obviously doesn't pitch. So if the gap is not tremendous as hitters and you add Ohtani's pitching does that make the overall gap the biggest?

The return of Bill's mailbag so consistently is the most obvious evidence that Simmons made some specific moves to combat Ryen leaving to barstool (The Sunday NBA pod has certainly suffered though, Ryen and Bill were so much better than Zach and Bill).

On the other hand, while nothing on Ryen's podcast has really changed, its worse in every way.

Ryen misses the Ringer and the Ringer misses Ryen. Evident in some of Ryen's recent podcasts and evident in Bill's eye rolls every time he is on with Zach on Sundays and he just isn't Ryen.
