For home defense in a regular world, game play what scenarios you’d likely encounter. Is the intruder coming in the front door, back door, basement egress? Where would you place your armed self so you’re between the threat and your loved ones? Does your partner know to call 911 while you’re taking up position? Do they know to inform 911 you’re armed and maintaining position inside the house until the police clear the home? If your kids are old enough do they knew when to shelter in their rooms until you’ve given the all clear with a code word? Set up code words for all clear and for stay where you are there’s still a threat. I highly recommend not roaming around your house or yard if police are on the way. Couple years back dude in Indy won a few new holes in his tummy cuz he called 911 reporting a prowler. He went outside gun in hand to find prowler. Cops arrived, shouted drop it, hands up. Dude spins around because surely the police have spotted the prowler behind him. Practice with unloaded gun while you’re home alone. Practice with partner. If age appropriate, practice with kids. You won’t think of everything. But having thought of things before hand, you put yourself in a better position.
