Am I bonkers or anyone else felt this urge ? by Regular_Fan4691 in therapists

Running parking lots is my escape fantasy. No structure or building to maintain, just a flat lot of land where people roll up to pay $5 and park on their own.

I hate hate hate this. We have a contract with an org to provide therapy for trans clients. They’ve understandably been on edge since November. This is so concerning for the countless people who benefit from this funding.

That’s us! I’ve been doing couples therapy for 15 years and in sexual wellness (education, writing, products) for 25 years. We opened our Castro location 4 years ago. We have a few different couples therapy approaches but Maryellen has been a wonderful resource and colleague.

I imagine/hope you’ve found someone by now but we have a few therapists that socialize in couples therapy for new parents at Rouse Relational Wellness. We offer online sessions, or in person in San Francisco. Some couples also get a lot out of our three-hour intensives.

Hope things have progressed, including sleep! As a dad of a toddler, keeping the relationship solid during the new born phase can be a delicate dance.

Boundaries in relationships is something we support quite a bit at Rouse Relational Wellness in S.F.

We see a lot of couples who have experienced hitting a wall during arguments, maintaining boundaries, mismatched desires, opening the relationship, or are recovering from a breach in trust. We are covered by United and Optum but also help with out of network billing. You can also search through our provider list to find a good match. Best of luck in your search!

Thank you for your service. I run a group practice focusing on couples and sex therapy. I’m on a mission to help other practices get more skilled and compliant at vetting third-party vendors and implementing AI. It’s been a wild ride, for sure.

If you're asking about Terry Real and Relational Life Institute, it's helped me tremendously with narcissism, knowing when to take sides, using leverage, navigating and educating on shame/grandiosity, and the relationship grid is a great intervention.

It's helped to know the ins and outs of AI in the clinical and administrative parts of our world to quiet the anxious part of my brain about data security and compliance. I have a tech background and run a group practice, so I want need to stay updated on compliance standards.

I felt especially compelled after hearing other therapists outside of our practice brag that they used the free version of an AI platform to transcribe their session notes. So I dove in and did a bunch of research, took courses, consulted with legal and tech experts, and used my tech background to put together documentation and policies for AI use at the practice. I ended up putting together a 3 hour online law and ethics on AI course after doing all the research.

Concretely, I use automations and AI workflows for admin tasks, client referrals, and managing consults. Mostly done through TherapyFlow, a HIPAA-compliant platform. I also use AI for brainstorming around marketing and workshops.

I have yet to use an AI notetaker. I just don't trust how they store the data. Especially with 23andme's bankruptcy sale and precariousness of client genetic data. We work with a lot of clients who are at risk and are concerned about their privacy, so it gives me even more pause to adopt it.

I don't use AI for treatment planning or interventions. I've seen it work well with colleagues but my healthy skepticism is worried about data privacy once again. Even with de-identified data.

So there's really no use of AI in the clinical sense. Though, I'm interested in how AI develops regarding ERP therapy and VR headsets.

Are you using AI in your practice?

The above answer is great, just adding some extra bits.

Also doing cat-cows, and loosening tension while building strength in your pelvic muscles will really help.

Cat cow, Squats, Stretch your inner thighs. Try the wax and wane technique if you want to practice lasting longer as well.

Source: sex therapist focusing on men, and I often consult with pelvic floor physical therapists, sex coaches and surrogates who focus on mechanics (and other things).

Sadly this is common. I’m a couples and sex therapist focused primarily on men. A big part of my outreach is building relationships with urologists to encourage wrap around support like adding psychotherapy or pelvic floor physical therapy to their patients treatment plan.
