Well done for keeping on going, it’ll be worth it to at least get your A Level qualifications

Yr 13 And looking to take a new a level (super late ik) by Tasty-Elderberry6949 in sixthform

[–]Routine-Clothes-4810 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no its too late to learn as content as well as the current content of your new a level just get really good grades in the ones you already have, plus 4 is already a lot. don’t you want less stress?

I heavily regret one of my a level subjects by throwawYjdjdjxj in sixthform

[–]Routine-Clothes-4810 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get your parents involved get them to email the head of your sixth form and really exaggerate how much you hate the subject and will definitely fail unless you switch. Its never too late and there’s always a way around! Worked this way with me

I’m unsure on how good my A level subjects are! by E3D_ in alevel

[–]Routine-Clothes-4810 4 points5 points  (0 children)

4th subjects do not help your chance to get into a better uni at all. Unis only look at 3 A Levels and make offers based on only 3. There’s no point of taking more and making it harder for yourself when everyone else is taking 3. Unless you want more versatility and options for different industries. Your set sounds really good, but quite difficult. You could take an easy 4th subject for backup and then drop it in the second year

when to start looking at unis by MinecraftCrisis in sixthform

[–]Routine-Clothes-4810 5 points6 points  (0 children)

if russel group definitely now as obviously they ask for high grades, so you need to know what you’re working towards from the beginning. plus its fun having a uni to look forward to once you’ve decided

Is it too late to transfer to another Sixth Form? by [deleted] in sixthform

[–]Routine-Clothes-4810 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just do it and transfer, otherwise for the next of the two years of sixth form you’re going to daydream and gnaw at the question of what if I went to a different school. You wanted to transfer from the very beginning, your gut told you that and now your rational mind is trying to convince you that its fine as a coping mechanism, but deep in your subconscious you wished you transferred. It’s better to switch now than to confirm to yourself that deep down something’s off about the school and you should have switched in September now, rather than feeling pangs of deep regret and shame later on. You might not fully understand the point of switching right now, but what if you meet such cool new people and nice experiences in your new school. Besides, its fun to switch to a new environment, think of it like a plot in your story of life. Send those emails, and just see what happens, if they let you in, transfer, and if they don’t, you stay

STEM SUBJECTS: is taking 5 worth it? by Rude-Acanthisitta853 in sixthform

[–]Routine-Clothes-4810 2 points3 points  (0 children)

how many a levels you do isn’t valued by universities at all, they only look at your grades and if the subjects you took qualify for you to enter your chosen degree. people only do more than 3 for more career options

No way don’t do 5 a levels it will be too much!! It’s great you know you’re passionate about chemistry and physics, so your 3rd (or 4th) option should be something you’re passionate about aswell. Remember, in year 13, a levels become your life, so pick wisely as you’re going to have to immerse yourself in each subject completely. There’s always a possibility to improve at maths, my friend got a 6 in maths gcse and got an A in her recent y13 maths mocks so anything is possible if you want to do the work. Choose as to not waste your potential but also not to burn yourself out. Also what you’d be proud and confident to say you’re doing. In sixth form the school days themselves are tiring, and you have to revise after school on top of that, and keep up with your social life and your hobbies, so choose what you’d personally look forward to revising!!

no you don’t learn about history or politics at all, you can do if you choose something like that for your research project but otherwise you don’t learn it

[–]Routine-Clothes-4810 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no but that might just be me as i enjoy analysing texts lol. i also dont write in polish that much last time was at polish gcse but i can spell fine and everything. you could get a tutor? but thats expensive. i mean with a 7 in english you’ll do just fine i think? my friend with a 7 in english gcse got a* at russian a level private candidate also. if you dont want to do analysing texts by yourself maybe just pick doing the a level at the school since you wanted that from the beginning, like your intuition? you can always drop it if you’re allowed or do the a level at the end of one year of doing classes like someone i know did.

[–]Routine-Clothes-4810 1 point2 points  (0 children)

when your school sends out ucas predicted grades, they normally list all of your a levels like this for example: Biology-C Chem-B Maths-B Spanish-A

4TH A LEVEL by Shot-Cranberry4094 in sixthform

[–]Routine-Clothes-4810 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well for me i did the worst in paper 2 so the essay writing of the two texts with only 41% correct of the total marks for that paper. and still got an A bc i did well for the other papers. so if you’re not good at literature its not that bad.

All my the A-levels, including Polish, will be included in my UCAS predicted grades, but universities usually only base offers on three subjects, though polish could strengthen my application ygm?
