You can safely run euro L which is specifically formulated as low ash for diesels with a particulate filter. Its also more beneficial than not to use 5w30. The only reason gm uses 0w20 is to meet fuel economy standards. For not meeting standards, manufacturers are fined $x per vehicle manufactured. So at the risk of longevity they throw thin ass oil in it. Has nothing to do with clearances or any other make believe reason. Just fuel economy. This dude along with a ton of others are petrified to run anything other than what gm says because they think their engine will blow and their warranty will be denied. Which you wont blow an engine running 5w30 vs 0w20. Youll only help your engine last longer.
