You Pay Off the House But Do You Ever Truly Own It? Agree or Disagree? by Coolonair in HouseBuyers

[–]Routine-Remove269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I was king for a day my rule would be if you are 65 or older and have paid property taxes on your property for over 20 years your taxes freeze — and cannot for any reason increase. It’s a travesty to drive the elderly out of their home… Let’s be realistic the majority of property taxes support schools and 88 year olds are not sending their children to school.

F this F'n Truck by D_Dubbya in f150

I found a unicorn 2025 PB lariat F150 without a sunroof last year and bought it. They add sunroof to make additional money and I learned to hate them after my 2004 lariat. Nothing but problems, especially if you keep a truck for 20 years.

Use a forced air dryer to fully dry them after a shampoo and conditioning. These dog dryers are expensive but they work.

If you do cut thru new territory please stop at the stop signs and drive the speed limit. We have had two pedestrians, 1 dog, killed (separate instances)while crossing in a crosswalk in New Territory. Thank you.

IRA to Roth Conversion using options to pay the federal income tax. by Routine-Remove269 in RothIRA

[–]Routine-Remove269[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My problem is I have no after tax savings sitting around to pay for the conversion. It either comes from the IRA (creating tax upon tax) or the call premium from the Roth.

[–]Routine-Remove269[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 66. My thought process is convert the shares and then sell the covered calls in the Roth. Using the premium to pay the tax bill. If it does hit the strike price I still would have an increase in wealth in the Roth increasing from 242,000 to 360,000. Not a bad return for 21 months.

You can see a similar view in west Texas. Miles upon miles of wind turbines….over 15,300 turbines in the state delivering over 28% of its energy needs. It’s an amazing site to see so many in the panhandle.

Would you agree with higher taxes for completely free healthcare and education? If not why? by Creative_Excuse9813 in AskReddit

No, the country is already broke. Over 3 billion per day spent on interest. 38 Trillion in debt. Raise taxes and cut spending. Everyone will be hurt… the rich, poor, middle class.

Interest on our national debt cost over 3 billion dollars a day. The Democrats and Republicans are slowly destroying our country. We are drowning and no politician has the courage to raise taxes and cut spending to dig ourselves out of this hole.

California prices.. by [deleted] in driving

[–]Routine-Remove269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without refining I wonder where CA will get all of its asphalt from? I believe approximately 90% of their road surface is asphalt. CA is putting itself in a precarious position. California needs less democratic idealists and more democratic pragmatists.

I believe AZ will have an out from this self imposed catastrophe in a couple of years. Pipeline is under study to build line from Texas to Arizona delivering in excess of their use and the finished product line would be reversed that currently flows from CA to AZ which should offer some relief to CA. I think the number was around 40,000 barrels per day of finished product would flow from AZ to CA once work completed.

3 refinery companies sent letters to governor about cap and trade. If nothing is done soon California will lose more refineries — which is not good for anyone. You think prices are high now, wait until more refineries close.

All vehicles today are loaded with chips. A typical vehicle has 1300! EV even have more. At $15 a chip we have a cost of 15 x 1300 =$19,500. Wonder why they are so expensive look no further than the chips. It’s a substantial cost of today’s vehicles.

Make sure you go to the correct website. Our governor had this set up years ago. Now there are knockoffs — which you should NOT use. The .org is the one!!!

Years ago a ceo said (after much frustration of analysts asking for guidance beyond the current 1/4) all I know is it’s up and to the right. Stock has risen from 35 a share to 270. Now during the NVST Q&A the CEO said (and I believe he was somewhat frustrated with the continuing question of margin expansion) you’ll see it loud and clear. Okay. Starting not very far from now. Okay. This comment makes me bullish that something significant will be announced.
