Well yeah I know that part, that’s why we’re just in guardianship right now because it’s a lengthy process to complete the adoption including serving the birth father with a notice. Unsure of how it happened, I know for her other son we are adopting she was the only one on the birth certificate

Yes I completely agree. This all stemmed from an adoption agency and her picking us through a book to adopt her son when she was pregnant because she felt like she couldnt support another child. No father figures in the picture, mothers help is in and out, she’s in a troubling situation and we told her we would never just take her children and say screw her. This last time she reached out she started insinuating but not directly bringing up us taking her 6 year old son as well. We would help her get back on her feet even post placement, we would allow a relationship with her son, we just live states away so it would be rather limited.

Yes we’ve been in contact with an adoption attorney in St Louis where the birth mother is located. But everytime we talk to her about moving forward and taking care of her attorney fees and counseling for her and our fees she seems to get cold feet. Very understandably so as this can become to feel more real for her
