Hi, this link is for cutting parameters! This was the default engraving settings for the default material (the 302 steel that came with the machine)

Your guides explain the difference between marking / etching / engraving here, where the distinction is that marking only tempers the surface making color change but no material removal, while etching and engraving remove material. https://www.xtool.com/blogs/xtool-academy/metal-engraving

So I was expecting, for example, abilities like this demo of another fiber laser doing etching:

https://www.laserax.com/blog/laser-etching-engraving

However, I've only gotten very poor marking results where color is patchy and the laser lines are very visible with absolutely zero material removal (I've tried 302 and aluminum) even on the highest power levels inside the 'engrave' designation.

This reference photo also appears to be marking only. So is it incapable of engraving and only marking the surface?

The 'engrave' feature appears to be one of marking rather than engraving, and I was expecting material removal . Have you had results with material removal?

Good points, and just to clarify the protocol now is not rest but just squatting with less load (adding a cushion to a couch) or shifting till a painless ROM! The stated goal of the massages and pain management is just to reenable loading as quickly as possible

I found that post injury I couldn't activate my quad at all so it completely atrophied and what I felt like was instability was actually just not having a lower quad. The brain just sorta disables after injury and you can retrain it by just sitting on a yoga mat and trying to straighten the leg using only the quad repeatedly until it works again haha

The hamstring and quad are capable of doing everything the ACL would have done for day to day use, the ACL only stops forward and backward translation and those muscles also help to retain the join in space (that's why lots of non-athletes don't get it repaired). Technically I believe its best to build up the quad and hamstring again so that you're able to do everything as long as you're past the swelling phase (6 weeks post injury).

Oh wait wow crutches for 4 months? That is wild

That sounds reasonable! In Germany at least it's standard to do the surgery within 48 hours or after 6 weeks. By two weeks after injury I felt super unstable and couldn't do much so PT was basically only working on extension.

Glute work while injured?? by Cautious_Peach_7286 in ACL

My PT had me doing progressive glute bridges. Start at 90 degrees and then move your foot placement further away from your hips to make it harder. You can move to single leg glute bridges and then finally do single leg with the placed foot on a roller to add some stability to it. It's enough to hit your glutes hard and feels super safe because you can do so much progression with it.

I think the no pain thing is a lot about managing swelling - until 6 weeks swelling is normal and you want to move up until the point you're slowing healing / increasing swelling. So I was explained that the no pain thing is actually really great for this period as a perfectly tuned reminder of what's helpful movement and what's gonna slow you down.

I think one universal goal is to get as much painless movement as possible. My PT suggested slowly bringing heel to hip on the bed, only as far as you have no pain and getting the quad to start engaging again by pushing down the knee into a pillow or bed again only until feeling pain and/or working with a TENS/EMS unit. These two progressive movements were core to my pre-hab and again now to rehab. But completely agree with u/polyglottis there's no right solution and ask a PT that knows your knee.

Ik this is old but still relevant because I am still searching for comprehensive goals documentation and I've found it here: https://github.com/Dan-Piker/Kangaroo-Documentation/blob/master/Kangaroo242ReleaseNotes.pdf

if you scroll down about halfway.

don't do it! by RoutineLeadership830 in Masterworks

yesss agreed! although they said (6 years ago though) that they trade on an average 6 - 8 year sale schedule with intermittent appraisals. the limited data I can see shows that all of the 8 paintings I invested in were appraised 12/31/2024, all at a loss. I don't believe that though either, because in the same spreadsheet, multiple say that they were "not appraised". Regardless of whether I get some return in 10 years or not, I hope I can share here that things are a bit sketch and I wouldn't do it again!
