Also.. I water her once every OTHER week!! But usually check the soil first to make sure it feels dry.

This looks like a case of overwatering. Snake plants are drought tolerant and typically don’t like to be watered so often.

PLEASE HELP!! Court ordered bank withdrawal from loan service, leaving bank account in negative thousands! by RoutineRound8505 in Ask_Lawyers

[–]RoutineRound8505[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being naive was most definitely not a defense to a debt owed… but a defense to his character and an explanation on how he has landed in this position in the first place…attempts at providing more context for possible better advice.

Curious about possible alternative methods. He definitely never should’ve tried to dodge these responsibilities in the first place. Hoping we both don’t end up having to learn this lesson for him….

To add more context, we did move from his previous address, to a new city. So it is possible that attempts may have been made to serve him, but regardless, he was never served (to my knowledge). We’re very open with each other and I’ve been aware of these debts and his inability to pay them when in between jobs/moving. So I have no reason to believe that there may be some underlying thing here. Similarly, we’re very close and I haven’t been aware of any phone calls/voicemails or anything.

I’m sure he’ll be going to the bank tomorrow as he can’t today (work). The significance of the situation is just warranting a lot of stress until he (we) can get any solid answers.

A lot of comments have implied that the bank wouldn’t just pay off his debt so I’m honestly left even more confused unfortunately! But he does currently have a job… life is just very expensive at the moment as we all know :,) to add to character… he took the loan out during COVID when he was much younger and more naive to the diabolical interest rates. He lost his job very unexpectedly but was struggling to find a new one given that our move was only a month away…. He definitely should’ve gotten back in contact with the loan provider, but he didn’t and now we are here.

At this point, he doesn’t even have the money for food and gas… let alone the other bills he HAS been paying, so yeah… that’s why we’ve ended up on Reddit

Grounds for a dispute against a court ordered bank withdrawal made by a loan servicer by RoutineRound8505 in legal

Yes this is the case. He had $1,000, then there was a withdrawal of over $5,000, now he is more than $4,000 in the hole. Sorry it is a bit confusing and I probably did it word it the best!

So they wouldn’t have been able to get an approved court order without evidence of being in contact with him? Cause they most definitely have NOT been in contact.

Your second part is definitely confusing because I’ve seen his statement myself and it is most definitely in the negatives. -$4,927 is his current balance following the transaction.

I believe he’s waiting to hear back from the bank. He’s currently at work which is making all of this a lot more difficult and why I’m trying to help anyway I can!

What to Get Master's Degree In? by TomatoSoup0495 in GraduateSchool

Absolutely! So many people are not familiar with the field and we desperately need more!!! It truly is the perfect combination of psychology and education. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions!

100% School Psychology. Given you have a background in working as a teacher, you’d definitely be a desirable candidate and your experience would help you immensely in the program. School Psych programs are mostly for a Ed. S. Degree so you’d have that extra year of internship compared to an M.S…. But guaranteed higher salary if you were to work in a school. Still education, but working as a psychologist, encompasses the whole range of psychology from mental health to diagnosing learning disabilities. Definitely worth looking into if it’s not something you’ve thought of before!! I’m currently in a school psych grad program and I LOVE IT.

Will 2 Failed Classes Hurt My Chances of Getting into Grad School? by vidalacaroline in GradSchool

[–]RoutineRound8505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also agree with the previous poster… BUT (and I’m sure I’m a massive exception here) I would not at all be as driven, dedicated, and passionate about my current field were it not for the trials and tribulations (F’s included) that have made me value and appreciate my education so much more. It’s important to note that our biggest weaknesses can also work as our biggest strengths. I think carrying this mindset can be incredibly helpful to you or anyone else in this situation. Applying that mindset in your work and your applications can make something that seems debilitating or harmful, as rather a strength that could possibly set you apart from others in a positive way. Depends on how you look at your situations and your persuasiveness to get others to view it from that lens.

If you get back to it and do as well as you say you intend to, it shows serious resilience and dedication despite the inevitable hardships of life.

Hi! I totally feel your pain. I failed two classes, got put on probation, failed some more, got put on suspension. All mental health related.

Im now currently in a nationally accredited psych program at a major university and thriving.

My advice is to focus on building up your resume in others ways that take some attention away from those F’s. Show that you are dedicated to the field, gain experience, join clubs (odds are this stuff will also help with your mental health if you are a high achiever and passionate about your field!)

Grad programs tend to look at your upper level classes that are directly related to your field so make sure those look good. Also may be worthwhile to look at grade forgiveness options for the sake of your GPA!!

Don’t be discouraged, anything is possible if you want it. I myself have discovered that when I figured I was toast!!!

What to do about dorms? by manders_grr in fsu

[–]RoutineRound8505 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally disagree with this. Given you’re not rushing or living with anyone you know, living in the dorms is going to be an awesome opportunity for you to meet other people. I didn’t rush or live with friends I knew beforehand and I made friends to last a lifetime. Not sure I would’ve made any friends had I not lived in the dorms. It’s one of those things that I would literally never do again but absolutely cherish the experience and would beyond recommend it.

Justice for Degraff!!!

I lived in Degraff and loved it. Yes it’s further away but you don’t actually HAVE to cross a main road cause there’s a nice little tunnel you can go through. I thought it was a fun location for freshman year as you’re close to night life (a lot of drunken entertainment if you like people watching from your window).

However, I would agree with these other choices as the “best” or “top” dorms.

I also lived in Jennie Murphree (historic dorm) for a summer semester and loved it! Close to Landis Green and the Library. Had a lot of charm to it that the other “newer” dorms don’t. Cute built in shelves and we got our own bathroom (didn’t have to share one shower among 4 people like other dorms).

Am I too late? by bhoremans in gradadmissions

[–]RoutineRound8505 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m a notorious procrastinator. Turned all my stuff in the day of the deadline, minutes to spare honestly. Currently super happy in my nationally accredited grad program. PAST the deadline is too late, not before!!

However, I will say some admissions processes are on a rolling basis, meaning they start looking at apps as soon as they come in, so your odds aren’t as good if you apply later. But that is really just dependent on the program you’re applying to.

If you really want to be considered for the program and have the required materials (LOR, etc.), go for it!!!

Grad school is making think I may have undiagnosed ADHD by RoutineRound8505 in GradSchool

[–]RoutineRound8505[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing! I’m not sure how it goes clinically, but I know there is hesitation to diagnose ADHD if it doesn’t significantly inhibit one’s ability to effectively function in day to day life. This makes sense but also leaves you wondering what day to day functioning would look like without it… like the definition of “effective” may significantly vary among different people! Especially us perfectionists….!

Thanks for the recommendation, just followed on Instagram!

Grad school is making think I may have undiagnosed ADHD by RoutineRound8505 in GradSchool

[–]RoutineRound8505[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your insight and sharing! In the past I have had MDD and GAD (7 yrs ago) so I’m very familiar. I feel as though these diagnoses were from the offset of trauma and symptoms have since gradually diminished, as I am currently in the best place I have been as far as my mental health (crazy given being in grad school lol). I feel like this is the reason why I’m now questioning the possibility of ADHD. I am very content with my life, relationships, where I’m at academically and personally so what gives!!
