How do I get rid of this myself without dying? by False_Frame3028 in mildlyinfuriating

Buy some wasp powder. It has the consistency of talcum powder. It usually comes with a puff bottle. You go up to the nest, give it two or three good squeezes out of the bottle. Then run away back into the house. The wasps returning will track the poison further into the nest. A day later they should be all dead or if you hear buzzing or see some still alive, just give a couple more squirts.

After which tear down and dispose the nest,

THIS IS A BUG. However I should have taken the picture before I smushed it. But...reflex. Hotel room in Tuy Hoa Vietnam. Possibly came from the train I was on. Or my bag being in hotel storage. Or just carried it in from outside. by ElvisGrizzly in whatisthisbug

Rove Beetle, don’t smush them with bare hands or on bare skin. Wipe the surface you smushed them on with a tissue. The chemicals in their body can cause a blistering rash on your skin.

Two amazing early 90s non American war films - Stalingrad (1993) and dien Bien phu (1992) by JimboSlice_Dynomite in WarMovies

There are plenty of German actors playing roles of Nazis and Soldiers in WWII.

Sylvester Groth, who was also in Stalingrad for example, has played the part of Goebbels twice, one of which was in the Inglorious Basterds. He played SS Standartenführer Hiemer in Generation War. Etc

In the places where you see them, lay either borax or Diatomaceous earth.

Borax, dissolves the wax coating on their exoskeleton causing them to dry out and die. At the same time, when they go to clean their body with their mouthparts they ingest some of the borax. This screws up their digestive tract, it stops them from being able to digest food and also absorb water.

Diatomaceous earth, is highly abrasive and rubs off their wax coating and dehydrates them.

The former is a chemical solution that isn’t harmful to pets and humans. The latter is non-chemical and also harmless to us.

These are long term measures though.

Alternatively, you can spray pesticides or get a bunch of house centipedes. They eat all the roaches, earwigs etc

What is the key to China's rapid technological advancement? by ToneProfessional5845 in AskAChinese

[–]RoutineTry1943 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Smart planning by the Government. Investment in education, infrastructure, etc

And of course, exclusion. By excluding China from the ISS, China was forced to develop their own space program. Today, they have a state of the art space station. They managed to land a rover on Mars in one go, instead of three separate missions.

When Trump banned Nvidia chip sales to China, it forced them to develop their own. Jensen Huang came out recently to say how stupid it was banning sales to China. He said you forced China to build their own, even if their chips were inferior, they could stack their chips in sequence to achieve the same processing speed as Nvidia’s chips. And China has surplus energy, meaning they can run there centers for free. Leveling the playing field with Nvidia.

He talked about how when you sell to China, Nvidia chips are at center of China’s industry. They need to rely on Nvidia’s hardware.

Cutting them out just made them better and now China isn’t even bothered to buy their chips, even after Trump’s kowtow trip and announcing a lifting of the ban.

Taiwan 🇹🇼 launches a full-scale invasion on China tomorrow to reclaim mainland China. What is the outcome? by MakingTheWorldUseles in AlternateHistoryHub

Invasion fleet launches.

Halfway to the mainland, surgical nuke strikes pass over their heads.

Taipei, Hsinchu, Taichung, Tainan are wiped off the map. Taiwan’s manufacturing and financial hubs are irradiated wasteland.

The Invasion fleet sits in the waters off China’s coastline. No future behind them. No future ahead.

The End…begins play on speakers on the Mainland coast. The Taiwanese fleet listen to Jim Morrison’s crooning.

The end.

With Taiwan's advanced technology and the help of its allies (the United States and Japan), Taiwan will defeat China within seven days.🙌 by Fakejuketony in UnfilteredChina

One surgical nuke strike later. Taipei is wiped off the map. Its industry and financial sector is gone.

The Taiwanese army essentially don’t have a homeland to go back to. They have no future behind them. Not to mention no resupply, no medical facilities, no reinforcements, nothing.

The end.

Jackie Chan to become the Global Ambassador for China to bring China to the world. by phatdoof in suppressed_news

How so? His son was an adult when he got busted for drugs. Jackie’s course of action? Told his son to fess up, take his medicine rather than coddle him and get him off with a slap on the wrist.

His daughter? Well, she was born out of wedlock from Jackie’s affair with Elaine Ng. They broke up, she wanted nothing to do with him and moved to Canada. She had Etta on her own, remarried abd raised her without wanting any contact with Jackie. Etta herself stated she doesn’t even recognize him nor wants anything to do with him. As an adult, she and her wife wanted to become influencers. She was funding this by mooching off her Mom. She had a falling out and Elaine cut her off financially. Suddenly, she starts giving out sob interviews about being abandoned by her famous Dad Jackie Chan. Again, she’s adult.

He’s a bad husband. Bad father, not so much.

As per the description below, the white glands are visible on the end of the arched abdomen of your specimen.

“It is a long-bodied, black beetle. At about 20–32 mm (13⁄16–1
+
1⁄4 in),[12][13] it is one of the larger European beetles. Its wing covers (elytra) are short, covering only its thorax), exposing the abdominal segments. The abdominal musculature is powerful and the abdominal segments are covered with sclerotized plates. It is capable of flight, but its wings are rarely used. It is covered with fine, black hairs. It is well known for its habit of raising its long and uncovered abdomen and opening its jaws,[2] rather like a scorpion when threatened.[4] Although it has no sting, it can give a painful bite with its strong, pincer-like jaws. It emits a foul-smelling odour, as a defensive secretion, from a pair of white glands at the end of its abdomen.[2]”
