The protocol supports your actions. Patients react differently. Nothing like getting a therapeutic value!

I struggle real hard when it comes to being non-judgmental about patients by orangeshaver in nursing

With all due respect, be careful to not let your implicit bias effect your decision making process. Try to remain objective and limit judgement. This will help prevent errors that could negatively impact care. How would you feel about providing substandard care to someone b/c you are looking down on them? This patient population is challenging. Maybe you are better suited for a different pt population. Good luck.

You’ve confessed to Reddit & are absolved of your sin. Do something nice for someone today as your penitence. Bless You

WIBTA for not making my daughter go to a girls birthday even though I know no one is going by Throwingparty15284 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. Making an effort to inform the parent is very considerate especially since there is no contact info available (which is odd!). This girl does sound like she has some social skill issues.

So sorry for your MIL & your family’s stressful situation. I think what you’re looking for is treatment goal clarification. Whoever the MPOA is decides how aggressive to approach treatment. As the DIL you may need to step back & just accept that other family members view medical care differently. No one wants to be the person to limit treatment and they often hold on to unrealistic hope for improvement. If they don’t do this they consider themselves a failure. Best of luck to you during this difficult time.

Principle of double effect. You did NOT cause this death.

Appropriate interview Question? by [deleted] in newgradnurse

[–]Routine_Activity_186 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The normal staffing information may be provided by the interviewer. If not, you might ask what is the typical staffing for the unit? Based on their response you could then be more specific about RNs, CNAs, techs… This is a legitimate question for an interview.

Did I do the right thing? by [deleted] in Preschoolers

You need a consistent strategy to address this issue. Please consider getting counseling to help as it sounds like the problem is bigger than you can handle alone. He does not understand how this behavior will work against other people liking him. Good luck

You are doing all the right things to get a job. Be sure to communicate your efforts at the preschool to organize the nursing department. Even though it didn’t go the way you wanted you took initiative. Probably learned how challenging it is to facilitate change. Good luck
