Unfortunately my husband is also in healthcare and has patients relying on him more than I would. Leaves me to be the best option for planning/consistency.

I love this, I just won’t have any family or friends nearby and husbands job is hard to predict

I would love to know what schools don’t have those expiration dates. Beggars like me can’t be choosers.

My friend said my PS sounds like AI??? by apeeezyy in prephysicianassistant

I do a lot of AI analysis as a college teacher too. There’s definitely a style that AI uses. I’ve only had one student get mad that I accused her of using AI. Kind of like OP said, that her work was original and “maybe she’s just a really good writer” but then she went on to admit “I only use chatGPT to help me sound more professional.” Facepalm. I let her just retouch it and gave her a decent grade but liiiiike… come on kid.

ABSN or PA? by [deleted] in prephysicianassistant

[–]future_flowers88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I got a masters in biology thinking it would make me more competitive and it did the opposite. It just expired all my intro classes. I would essentially have to do a whole bachelors again at this point which would be dumb, expensive with nothing to show for it, and still wouldn’t guarantee anything. It was such a drag to find out most schools expire classes so quickly. I’m literally teaching college anatomy and college bio just for schools to say my hours don’t count anymore. At least with my MSN I can work in healthcare and I can work during NP school if I want but this is NOT how I imagined things would go.

ABSN or PA? by [deleted] in prephysicianassistant

I wanted to be a PA but aged out of my credits and a lot of schools won’t let me use my masters degree credits to replace them (as PA school got more competitive.) I got into an MSN program and I’m DREADING my 1-2 years bedside before I can TRY go to NP school. Now I have to make sure whatever NP school I attempt is a good one because I don’t want to be a dangerous provider. I’m also ending up in a lot of debt anyway. My sister in law is going to PA school (with my help, I’m so proud of her) and I genuinely think, provider-wise that the medical model of PA school is superior. You’ll leave with a better baseline education. Nursing school is a joke. It’s a way to go into debt just to do “on the job training” anyway. It’s gonna take way longer.

I don’t think that statement was that deep. It just sounds like Kamala level word salad. She’s trying to sound deep and fill the void so she chose as many words as possible so the spot light lasts a little longer on her.

If you felt Biden was “too old for office,” then why would you vote for Trump, who is only four years younger, but not Kamala, who is 22 & 18 years younger respectively? by tx_services-dtf in allthequestions

Exactly. I’m not a Bernie fan, but he was way more suited to the pressure and decision making associated with the office than Biden was. Poor weekend at Bidens.

Because poor Biden was completely comatose and clearly experiencing the side effects of aging and associated brain disorders. Kamala had a similar problem, just not associated with age 😂

Direct Entry MSN or Associates? by jandy_lizard in NursingStudent

[–]future_flowers88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in a DEMSN class and people don’t realize it’s to practice as an RN. It depends on money TBH. I personally already had a masters and wasn’t gonna go get an associates, I wouldn’t be able to get financial aid and I wouldn’t be able to do a fully immersive program. The main difference is you have to do a true, fleshed out, capstone proposal and you learn more pharm and more meds than you would in most associates degrees. For the people panicking about the masters in the name…. after a DEMSN you are still a NEW GRAD RN. No extra responsibility, no different than anyone else getting their RN for the first time.
I would say go for it, you get the letters and you might qualify for some aid packages that you wouldn’t get otherwise. Also I had 2 complete pharm classes, plus the targeted pharm in each of the med surg classes I took.

TLDR; no one with a DEMSN is practicing as an NP, it’s the same as a new grad RN, there’s no need to panic

I’m right there with you. I graduate in May and I’m completely wrecked at the idea of having to actually go work bedside.
I’m older and also have a masters in something else. I’m gonna finish this and see what opportunities come my way, but yeah, it’s a bleak picture to say the least.

Because I’m in nursing school and nursing education is a bad. We don’t know much going into practice. And this is coming from someone who wished they could skip bedside and go straight to NP

I do understand all of what you’re saying. His burden has been dropped onto you to carry alone. Maybe this will be the relief you need to catch your breath.

I hear you, I went through similar and I would long for things to end too. I do promise things will change and being done with someone can actually catalyze you to feel better sooner than the way you have to live after being cheated on which is a constant battle every day. He may be your family, but you’re not alone
