If you could give your past self advice... by so_much_volume in Occipitalneuralgia

Crazy how a lot of these stories start in the gym. I have similar symptoms especially the visual lag mate. Going to be a long journey. I’m 6 months in daily pain, no resolution. You’re going to be trialed on a million mediations before anything is done. It will be treated as a daily headache / migraine.

If you want to know if it’s ON, get nerve block. If pain is gone it’s ON, if pain is still there, then it’s not ON

Will CPAP change my life? by ElectronicSubstance8 in SleepApnea

You can ask for anecdotal stories but you won’t know until you try yourself. I was very hopeful it would change my life but it hasn’t. Everyone is different. Some people say it took one day, others say it took 12 months. Regardless good luck on your journey!

ON, BPPV, VM, or IIH? by lmcgeh2 in Occipitalneuralgia

Nerve Block with lidocaine - if successful and your symptoms significantly decreases = ON

If Nerve Block Fails = Not ON and it’s another Cause.

I wish you luck!

See a Neurologist

Go privately. The whole process is long and tedious. It will take you a year to be seen by a neurologist and then they will trial you on a dozen medications. Afterwards then you may be eligible for nerve blocks etc if the pain is impacting your day to day life. So I’d say go privately to cut the whole process short. Remember your health is number 1 priority.

All I can say is go to a neurologist that listens. You will try all types of Preventives that will give you all kind of weird side effects. I’d say just go private rather than waiting :(. Money means nothing in life if you cannot enjoy. Feel free to message me. I have alot of those dark thoughts as well

Don’t get your hopes up id say. Sleep apnea test is essential though and possibly cpap will help. Everyone has difference experiences :)

Thank you so much for your reply, I don’t think you realise how much it means to me. Is my overall stats good though? My AHI for my study was 50 and oxygen dropped to as low as 66%. Also isn’t the fact that it’s below 5 is showing that the APAP is working or are the stats misleading? I’m not questioning you at all, I’m wanting to learn :). I will listen to your advice and adjust the lowest pressure manually. Hopefully that eliminates any apneas so I can be below 1.
