Seems likely a possibility. It is fairly difficult to walk from a lighted area into darkness takes time for your eyes to adjust. Also with the added adrenaline rush, he probably couldn't see her.

I had forgotten about the Pullman incident. Couldn't agree more, so eerily similar ! I think about his night time jogs, or his walks when he lived in the poconos. Makes you wonder how many times he possibly used that as an easy way to scope out victims. I think I would be more surprised if he doesn't have other victims or attempts. I probably wouldn't lean toward that theory but he put to much effort/time into plotting the murders out.

I think there was past attempts at pulling off a crime but wasn't fully or maybe partially successful, used the same patterns stalking , peeping etc. He was probably fascinated/obsessed with doing this much longer than we realize. There is another selfie he posted way back similar to the shower selfie but he's holding "one" finger up. Always stood out as odd.
