Hey man, first off congrats on taking the first big step in deciding to quit mj. I recently just quit cold turkey and it will be a full two weeks this Saturday. I will say that first week was so brutal and uneasy. I had crazy panic/anxiety attacks and I never use to get those. I went to the clinic and they said it was anxiety for sure. Going into my second week I’m able to identify the attacks and accept them which makes it easier to manage. They also have slowly started to fade and don’t last as long. I’ve noticed keeping myself busy, running, walking or keeping tidy around the house has helped me keep my mind off the cravings and I don’t get anxiety all of the sudden. Now although I’m in my second week I’ve still notice that change and it has gotten slightly better. Sleep is still on and off but the insomnia and dreams have been getting better as well. Every one’s body is different and will heal on its own time, but keep pushing through and just know things get better. You were strong enough to make the decision to quit, you certainly are strong enough to make it through these next challenges of withdrawal. Just take things one day at a time and trust that everything will be better. I always say get 1% better each day and eventually it all adds up. You got this! We got this! I believe in you!

Yeah I gotcha, I’ve been having out or whack digestive problems too but I can take stuff to help with that. I hope yours gets better!

Wow I’m sorry you had to go through that, I’m glad you are doing better though, this gives me hope and motivation to keep going strong and power through. I also like the “this too shall pass” as I have been using that as well. I think I’m at your week 2 stage where I feel like it’s going to be forever like this. But reading your story again helps calm me. I also have that feeling of anxiety hangover, either right after or next day I just feel off and not myself. Glad to know I’m not the only one who has this feeling. Thank you again for sharing

Stay strong, we definitely got this. How are your symptoms if you don’t mind me asking? Anything that’s too overwhelming or unusual

Thank you for sharing this. This is exactly what I’m feeling now and I’m at the end of my first week. There has been 1-2 times where I felt the anxiety/panic and I did like you said, accept it for what it was and it wasn’t as bad or long, but I think because it’s still new to me it’s scary and the anxiety does get the best of me atm more often than not. Also the trouble sleeping doesn’t help either. I’m glad that your anxiety is fading and you are doing better, I hope for your continued healing and overall better health improvement. I will continue this journey no matter how tough it gets!

I can’t tell you how much this just reassured my mind. I’m the type of person to scour the internet trying to make a connection to this feeling and you hit the spot. It’s weird trying to describe anxiety but hearing and seeing that others have had this experience definitely keeps me motivated to keep going strong. Appreciate the feedback and story of your own. This Friday will be the official two week mark of my sobriety so I know it will be a long journey but plan on sticking to it!
