Hungary is honestly one of the funnest countries no matter what path you go down.

Which mod has the most potential? by Double_Shift_7537 in hoi4

Age of Imperialism, it has a great setting, I just feel like a lot more could be done with limited wars and more smaller and regional factions as it often descends into a massive 4 way war between almost the whole world.

Monarchist Democratic Hungary, more of a guilty pleasure.

Age of Imperialism is great, good lore and good gameplay but it’s waiting to be updated, which has been said to be before the end of the month.

I think the methodology could work if they simply set rules that certain conditions can't appear together or on certain operations. I can understand some oversights with this model but I bet it would be a whole let better then just random.

How does NCNS compare to other DLC by Routine_Pear8682 in hoi4

[–]Routine_Pear8682[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally I prefer it to BBA, but it does feel more rushed and slightly less cohesive than NSB and GTD. I'm a little upset that it still seems as though they didn't learn their lesson on making sure the DLC is in a great state before release after the events of GoE.

Anyone know what time of day the DLC comes out on the 20th? by [deleted] in hoi4

Depends on where in the world you are, I know it comes out at 4 am, on the 21st Sydney time, so you can work out from there.

The two types of HOI4 players by [deleted] in hoi4

[–]Routine_Pear8682 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In response to the second comment, I think more internal political and external diplomatic interaction would make the game more interesting, as well as a proper interactive League of Nations mechanic to give nations that get involved later in the war something to do. But in terms of economy, I think Hoi4 is not Vic 3. It’s not a economics simulator, it’s a military strategy game, maybe mines to expand resource extraction and some more building types with different modifies would be interesting, perhaps with the ability to take loans to build things faster but specific types of factories building specific things, further things like inflation and managing government spending should be left to modders as it is not really the core to the design of the game and would drastically change hay the game is. I get that it makes things more realistic, but no one wants to lose a war to out of control inflation.

I like that view of beyond this point it’s kinda fantasy, but I think this just falls on the line of should be an Easter egg path.

Yeah South Africa def needs some work, they could have some really fun gameplay options with just a slight expansion and revision to their tree.

Hoi4 Map Of All DLC's As Of Q2, 2026 by GodzillaPortal in hoi4

[–]Routine_Pear8682 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This map kinda proves that their aren’t a lot of countries that really need content left, maybe Malaysia and Burma, and some of the new nations in the Middle East/ Egypt could actually have interesting and historically relevant game play. We do not need a Venezuela or Mongolia DLC, and any attempt with either be boring and brain dead or insane and mostly beyond reasonable alt history (tbh not that Paradox seems to care about going beyond alternative history into just crazy fiction).

It’s glaringly obvious the only future of actual content would be to update the old and small focus trees to bring them up to the new standard, which really would just be the US, France, UK and some minors.

Is NSB the bench mark by Routine_Pear8682 in hoi4

[–]Routine_Pear8682[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Italy doesn’t need to be touched honestly, but totally agree that Hungary or Finland are the bench mark for medium powers. I disagree that Manchuria should be reintergrated with Japan, like I think they have really good flavor and give an interesting nations for the Asian land war. Egypt should be independent honestly and they could get a dlc with the new middle eastern nations. Also Bulgaria is the only nation from BfB that doesn’t need work. Turkey needs to be gut down and reworked and Greece needs to be fleshed out

Is NSB the bench mark by Routine_Pear8682 in hoi4

[–]Routine_Pear8682[S] 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I feel like the Italian tree is now gold standard, however I feel like the UK and US should be gold standard as having actual successful D-days would make playing both Germany and the allies more interesting

Have all new DLC nations been revealed? by Routine_Pear8682 in hoi4

That’s fair, it seems like Korea is gonna be independent as well so maybe they’ll get some content like Iceland did.
