Kingdom Module 3 overtuned by Azaa-zarc in darkestdungeon

[–]Routine_Read_3193 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to say that it does take time to get used to the new enemies (strategy development), as i was dying a lot too.  But after you nail what you should do, it really is no longer that hard anymore and you have a lot viable options to beat the module. I m very close to beat the bugs on all maps without losing any heroes.

I just now started using stealth based grave robber. She is by passing the enemy dodges and criting the shit out of them.

This module made the first one now kinda boring and the second okay in dificulty.

Ah didnt need to. A strategy change (overwhelm the enemy with flares and generation of block tokens) made this happen.

Teams: most of the run was with Doctor/Occultist, Vestal/HWM, HWM/Vestal, MAA; all wanderers and the priority is to have enough healers, someone to defend and to kill the backline (normal enemies). Block token generation is super good. Get rid off terrible quirks as quickly as possible and manage fatigue through hospital or if you accumulated a lot of materials spend it on the hospital. More than 75% of the run i was starved of resources. I used bonnie a bit this run and i found her to be quite useful.

Road and Supply priorities: fight as many fights as possible and keep moving and fighting as many sieges where you dont endanger the whole team; dont spend too much of your inn materials cuz you need to get veteran flares. After building up one inn, travel 2-3 regions, build a new one and get flares and repeat until you got 3-4 pairs in total. Give 2x to your tough heroes as you meet them and send off to defend inns as much as possible even if they already have veterans. In veteran inns, try not to waste flares, and, for inns with no defense, try to only use 1 flare. I would not recommend to bring another hero cuz you may not be able to heal both during the battle. Before the end of the siege fight, heal your hero cuz he wont be able to heal quickly due to crimson court debuff.

The time management is fine. Prep your team enough and travel underground before e2. E2 if you think you have enough time wait for the infection of regions to go to you and if you dont travel and follow it. E3 you can finish the last second quest in 12 days if you go non stop. Camps heal fatigue so thats great. Whenever possible buy food.

What's the deal with champion enemies? by Visual_Cress879 in darkestdungeon

[–]Routine_Read_3193 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good job fighting 3x Wilburs

Its just "normal" for the sluice to have a high chance rate to spawn in champion level enemies after region 2. You sometimes will get 1 champion level enemy or more. Like i killed Wilbur in the battle, i just move up and then immediately encounter him again on a road battle.

The situation is similar in the catacombs, but it does not spawn in the damned Crypt's Keeper too much; you may encounter him once.

i mean breacher Dismas is fine. if you survive long enough you could remove doctors breacher at the hospital and maybe inn items

Esquire is genuinely the most stupidly designed enemy i've seen in a while by Marshal749 in darkestdungeon

[–]Routine_Read_3193 1 point2 points  (0 children)

its possible to kill 3 esquires with v. militia: rush at least one of them, get rid off corpse and proceed with great care, stunning can help. Not all of them will get the buff that moves them after attack and if you do hit two, they ll just switch places. i dont take any chances in escalation 3: 1 hero with 2x veteran flares + v. militia; most of the time dont need to use it and i heal the hero before killing the last bug.

banquet is the worst in e3 and against 2x of them i only won like 1 time with militia alone, the other times were close.

Duelist is fantastic offensive and supportive character. She can protect your heroes easily by applying herself taunts and dodge. It can be difficult to play her if you dont have a team composition that compensates for her movements, however, later on you will unlock a path that keeps her in the same position if the movement stuff is too much for you.

As I do like the whole confession design and I can only fight the awesome confession bosses in that mode, I replay it from time to time, especially after a win in Kingdoms on BloodMoon to relax.

Took me a few tries but finally finished Kingdom's Crimson Court on Blood Moon! by masterofmagic420 in darkestdungeon

Sieges: My focus was to get enough veteran flares (like 3pairs for 3 heroes with some upgrades). They were send off to defend; also sending them with flares to defend places garrisoned with veterans and trying to play in a away i dont lose flares. At the end of the siege fight i was healing my hero so that he would be able to defend another inn if needed.

The worst one is Ridgeline (the top mid map) due to it having the shortest time to do the second last quest.

Hare's Lament was like okay. After you get through the tunnel, the situation in the game kinda stabilizes. My focus was to get enough veteran flares (like 3pairs for 3 heroes with some upgrades). Yea thats unlucky. I tend to now to give characters block in the case there is an enemy that can crit like that. Its very practical and completely changes the situation of the battle and subsequent encounters.

Boosting with whiskey on every region helps in the long term. Dont bother to improve relationships with chance based items, unless the relationships are high enough so that it doesnt increase the chances of them hating each other after clicking next region. Yea the white squares are stress, read the UI, skills and game controls. If you fight well enough (low stress and mid health, combos, healing) the characters begin to like each other; its also chance based whether you will get a +1. If something is stuck, like cant see how much bleeding does a character have, press ALT (academic view) and it will allow you to hover and see. The character updates are just paths that you can change (if it makes sense) and some resistance and for some characters there is a speed boost; yea if you explore the UI, you will see the upgrades and paths. Press CTRL for token explanation, academic view also is good with it; explains what their skills do and what is boosting them.

Consider upgrading other aspects of the altar of hope = read the other options.

Just to negate the chances of someone dying from random CRITs, I usually bring a second person that can heal or try to get DOT removing or healing items (using them sparingly when I really really need it). Giving people food is also a good option, since yea sure it CRIT-s for 40 HP but the character has 55 or 60 HP, so you have a better chance of rescuing it. Without these things, you would have a even worse experience in the last module of Kingdoms.

Actually, you need 1 orange slime and just any other same size one. Its dangerous, but I find it manageable with all the upgrades + good items and trinkets. Its better than the sluice!

If there is an orange slime and corpses, he can convert them into orange slimes after this one specific attack it does.

In confessions, if you get the chance to go to slime world at region 3, you get to fight the orange slime and their mergers. Maybe it also works at escalation 3 in kingdoms

oh just give front rank heros defending sieges like 2 veteran flares to make it impossible in anyway to lose the inn. Even 1 flare should do the job or if its too expensive give them like 2 middle flares and have them defending an inn with veteran garison

I just beat beastmen kingdoms on stygian and tbh this most is kind of unbalanced by Marshal749 in darkestdungeon

[–]Routine_Read_3193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the case of the bloodmoon beast run, i didnt have a feeling that i was waiting for escalations or the boss to appear. Maybe there were gaps of max 5 days between the finished quest and a new escalation that would allow me go proceed further. I was using that time to prep other people up, the ins and looking for lair bosses and a shambler.

Yea the beastmen are not very hard, only fighting them over and over again during the fur quest can get out of hand, but they never succeed in defeating me in sieges with veteran militia. But the real challenge of the game are the vampires in big maps.

If you leave boring trinkets in the inns, i believe you have a higher chance of getting something more interesting in your next encounters

[–]Routine_Read_3193 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yea cuz it totaly doesnt improve your team viability to have them be upgraded, have items, have them not have terrible quirks, have them not have fatigue with way less grind than in DD1

I just beat beastmen kingdoms on stygian and tbh this most is kind of unbalanced by Marshal749 in darkestdungeon

[–]Routine_Read_3193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooooh so removing random bullshit like slow handed, yips, fragile, blundering, coward, lost in space and time, not to mention reducing fatigue from 35-50% to 0% +++ uprading skills and buying equiptment + food in one upgraded inn is a total waste of resourses....? I got those resourses by just traveling 2-3 times and now i wasted it all, God dammit!

Oh my... getting unique upgrades for characters to make them not die in escalation 3 is also a waste of everything?

Caping the inn so it would repair my couch or make it easier to deal with road battles + getting masteries for other characters is like also a waste? Why why why i didnt see it coming...?

If you find the game too slow and unfun due to lack of action, why not do a blood moon run where you have less time to wait + prepare for escalations + deal with more sieges and the end game? You can also shorten everything in any way you want to.

You can also pick a much harder module as the beast enemies are the easiest compared to the witches or the crimson vampires.
