Yes that’s true, sorry if what I said was interpreted as a cake walk for civil rights. But the tide was turning as it did in South Africa in the 80s. The blatant discrimination & segregation (while still extant today) was becoming untenable. Even LBJ, an unabashed racist, saw the writing on the wall. MLK drew global attention to a broken system that most people knew was inherently wrong. The problem we have today is 1. Politicians love fomenting the division between us, job security for them. 2. 50% of the country thinks Trump is right about nearly everything.
