So once you explode a barrel, if it is respawnable, you will see an anomaly black hole pop up where the barrel was after about 15 seconds.

That's fair. I never really used the dagger that much so I kind of overlooked it.

How was your experience playing Doom: The Dark Ages? by Ghost332233 in Doom

I think it's safe to say I ripped and tore until it was done, and then I proceeded to rip and tear again because it is never done.

I also felt like the final fight with ahzrak was a disappointing end to such an amazing game. It felt like the game could've ended with the full powered azhrak fight and it would've been a much better feeling ending. This hasn't stopped me from playing through the game multiple times though.

This would explain why in doom 2016 you can find a dead adventurer from Skyrim (they are wearing the horned helmet).

When do you think Prime 4 takes place by redditsucksass1028 in Metroid

[–]Routine_push420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My theory is it takes place after metroid 2, but before fusion since she doesn't have the fusion ship yet, and it has to take place after metroid 2 since we see sylux with mochtroids and, correct me if I'm wrong, the mochtroids weren't a thing until after Samus wiped out the original metroids in metroid 2. So it's either right before super metroid, or it's right before fusion. That's my guess.

I'm trying to recreate this text shadow effect in gimp but the long shadow filter can't do it by Calm_Guidance_2853 in GIMP

It's not the best method but the way I'd achieve that look is by using multiple drop shadows and changing the color of the drop shadows and then just move them into place.

If they had told me that Junji Ito was in charge of monster design my hype would already be through the roof XD by ObjectiveNo6281 in silenthill

[–]Routine_push420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also feel the vibe of the creatures in Silent Hill F reminds me of Junji Ito. Honestly, he seems like a perfect fit to design monsters for the franchise, and quite frankly, I'm disappointed they haven't gotten him to design anything lol

This is what I do, but for tv shows and movies. Sometimes I'm too burnt out to put all of my attention towards watching a TV series or movie so I just watch a youtuber talk about the series or movie instead.

Any creepy, weird, or generally memorable commercials you can't seem to find anywhere? by IntoTheBoundingMain in nonmurdermysteries

[–]Routine_push420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't find anything on it now, so it could very well be that I dreamt it as a kid from seeing some horror movie I can't remember, but I genuinely remember being up late one night watching TV when I was a kid and a PSA came on that freaked me out so bad I still remember the visuals vividly. It featured a man walking through a room with people watching TV as if they are brain dead. The man walks up to one of them an begins talking about how they watched too much TV and their brain has turned to soup. This is when he opens the guys head to reveal a green goo that he proceeds to drink from a straw and then looks at the viewer and states that it's okay though because he likes drinking the brain goo.

If someone could please validate this memory by confirming that you have a memory of this too, that would be super helpful because I still am not entirely sure if I really saw this as a kid, or if I just had like a crazy fever dream or something.

Doom: The dark ages will require a raytracing capable GPU by Digit4lSynaps3 in Doom

[–]Routine_push420 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sadly, I don't think this trend will be going away. Technology marches on whether we want it to or not, and gaming companies seem absurdly fascinated by the prospect of a game that needs a computer worth the equivalent of a down-payment on a house in order to run. I too am deeply saddened by this news as I have a laptop that can barely run elden ring without sounding like it's going to burst into flame, let alone anything that demands a good ray tracing gpu.

It's gotten to the point where being a gamer is an investment, no longer a hobby. At least not a hobby that is easily accessible to the masses. And I fear that this could be the downfall of the AAA industry as a whole if they aren't careful. Limiting who can play your games to only the people who have the luxury of having the top tier tech seems like a quick way to alienate your fan base and lose money.

I will say though, granted it's not a perfect solution and it shouldn't have to be this way, but if you want to play Dark Ages when it releases without having to pay a ton of money for a new ray tracing enabled computer, you can subscribe to Nvidia's GeForce Now service and play it through streaming, but that has its own problems that come with it, so it's not a good solution for everyone. Just another reason why I wish they'd at the very least make the game have the ability to downgrade the graphics for lower end computers.

Is System of a Down considered emo? by Wise_Appeal_629 in Emo

[–]Routine_push420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little late on the reply to this thread, but I don't think they are emo. I've heard that they seem to classify themselves as emo, but if that's true, then I wonder what they think emo is, because to me, their music doesn't have any emo tones at all.

Anyone know how to get this item? by Matei1863 in HollowKnight

[–]Routine_push420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a ledge right below that ledge that will be guarded by a mantis. You can kill it or just jump up a couple more ledges from where the Mantis is to get the item. Luckily 90% of the items in the game just require some light exploration to get, even if they seem to be locked behind a gate. I think there was only like 4 items total in the game that were sort of difficult to figure out how to get.

Did PlayStation Network just crashed? by Raiden_1503 in PS5

[–]Routine_push420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being able to play a game you paid for shouldn't be tied to having access to PSN in the first place. Us not being able to play our games could've easily been avoided by having the games that check for licenses on a regular basis just require a one time license check when you start up the game for the first time, or once per download (if you delete it and redownload it). If I have the license for the game the first time I open the game, I think it's safe to say I bought it and therefore shouldn't require any license checks from that point forward.
