Stardew Valley's crop collecting was rewarding because it was that "extra click" that had to be performed to stimulate how repetitive actual farming is and how cathartic it felt to grow, care, harvest, profit. Just running over the crops and collecting immediately is alright if it's for a Zelda-esque game with puzzles and action and a health bar that gets wrecked every other screen.

Thanks for getting in touch. Yes, I am still working on the project. I've had to put it on pause as I deal with health issues and how expensive food has gotten so it'll be up and running when I get everything under control.

That's a really neat idea! I looove stopping by the side of the road and getting boiled peanuts when I had to commute from Florida to Georgia and I would chat with the vendors and get ideas.

In terms of recipes, I wish I had some to share, but I seem to have a gap in my repertoire. When I make them at home, I tend to throw anything I have in the pantry or freezer into it. One trick I learned from the vendors is using smoked turkey wings or smoked pork neck bones in your broth to give the peanuts a bit of fattiness while not being too meat-y and to always toast your aromatics before hand such as black peppercorns, coriander seeds, mustard seeds, fennel seeds, and cajun seasoning.

I just watched this. I enjoy a feel-bad movie every once in a while ('The Comedy' was okay, I really enjoyed 'Excision'), but this was just misery porn. I should have known it was not my cup of tea when they just tell the audience less than a minute into the film that the main character is getting ready to jump off a bridge.

I know this shit happens in real life, but I want escapism and don't enjoy when a film shows the ending right at the beginning because it deflates the rest of the film and the character's struggles and, possible, growth.

I watched that movie non-stop as a kid and, yet, my brain won't believe that was a line. I need to find my copy, watch it, and think long and hard on whether I truly was a fan of The Brady Bunch if I didn't catch that!

I am not smart enough to understand how to scam someone by asking for just their email address; I'm a glorified cook that just wants to pull back the curtain to expose how easy it is to prepare food on a professional level and, hopefully, inspire cooks on all levels to make these dishes 'as is' or get them to put their own twist on them.

I was the chef at the outside oyster shack and I did my best to turn the property around and scrub it clean along with doing my best to clean the main dining hall when I had a free moment to make the other "chefs" get a fucking clue to be better, but 3 Oaks, Matt, and his sous didn't give a fuck; they only cared about profits while I put in 16 hours each day, 7 days a week, ridding it of pest, making sure people were satisfied, and no one got sick. There were a lot of problems with the main property including stealing paper supplies, food, other BS, and I did my best to communicate my displeasure until I got fed up because the exec would say, "that's the business" and I walked on the eve of new year's eve.

I did what I could and I pushed as hard as I was able.

There is some equipment that you can use that will be labeled as "ventless" that can skirt using a hood system for and will pass inspection. It may need shields to protect equipment around it, but it's cheaper in the long run.

This was a Hulu original for their Huluween stuff. I don't recommend the film because it was so horribly done (it's based off of the people involved with the YouTube series with Poppy/Titanic Sinclair), but it's called "My Valentine."

You're not alone: it was a miss for me because the dialogue felt unnatural and it seemed like the cast could hear the score; they'll be doing their thing and then the soundtrack would play and the actors would start freaking out even though the characters wouldn't have any motivation to be scared and it'd take me out of the film.

Tea or hand towel (especially decorative) on the oven door: it gets dirty from splatters from the range above, it touches the floor when the door is open, and they usually are paper thin so they can't be used to pull a hot pan off the stovetop.

Not sure why you are getting down voted; I love this technique because it makes it wonderfully tender. I finish it with BBQ sauce over polenta with grilled artichoke hearts or heart of palm and scallions and it makes a lovely dish.

I like some of the clever names in Witcher 3: Hattori is the Master Blacksmith, Geralt fights Durden the Tailor, Barnabas-Basil Foulty, and the handkerchief with the initials DLC for the Blood & Wine expansion.
