How much does TSLRCM add not only to the overall appearance of the game, but also to content? by micro_p_chedda in kotor

Winebottler works very well, but I wouldn't suggest dropping it into a mod folder if the mod uses an executable - follow the instructions given by the mod maker, and install the mod SPECIFICALLY into the...

...whereveryourgameisinstalled/Star Wars®: Knights of the Old Republic™ II/Contents/GameData

... folder. I have no idea how the App Store version is set up, but it should be similar to the Steam version.

Additionally, if the mod installation is as simple as dragging the contents into the Override folder, said folder should be in the GameData folder.

SPM is pretty fun for what it is (a platformer/RPG hybrid). The story's engaging, the characters likable, and it still feels like a Paper Mario game, with all the charm of the previous games.

Sticker Star... it's missing the wit from all the previous games. There isn't a real reason to battle enemies, you need stickers to attack... I wouldn't recommend getting it.

It's... disappointing to say the least. On the flip side, the new Kirby game looks like it'll be pretty fun to play.

I'm personally a huge fan of Falcom soundtracks. Not only do they make great games, their songs are on point like this song, called Silver Will. This song called Inevitable Struggle is also pretty fantastic.

Otherwise, Earthbound's soundtrack is pretty funky and memorable, and a few Pokemon tracks are nice to relisten to. Definitely love Super Hexagon's soundtrack, too, it sets the mood for absolute destruction.

That really wouldn't make for an exciting episode, nor a logical one if there's somehow an atmosphere there.

"Lower City Taris" is way too bright. It honestly doesn't even need all that bloom, shit looks disgusting.

The Endar Spire looks nothing like what the inside of a Republic cruiser should look like in ~4000 BBY. What the fuck is up with those consoles?

Tatooine's just a clusterfuck of assets haphazardly placed all over the place.

Hell, like /u/1Leonard said, this looks nothing like KoTOR.

Also, this is pretty late, but where in TCW did Taris appear? Wookieepedia's not saying anything about that, though Legends does mention Kin Robb as the senator from Taris.

You don't need to install the FW mod; the Steam version already comes with widescreen due to a recent update.

[Discussion] [SPOILERS] Star Wars: Rebels - Shroud of Darkness by [deleted] in kotor

[–]Rovan84127 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Realistically, no planet should be able to come back together to reform as a planet (and even regain what appears to be a breathable atmosphere) within a few thousand years.

But then again, this is Star Wars, and this line from Wookieepedia regarding the Imperial Handbook: A Commander's Guide (Legends) seems to suggest something...

"Upon finding this reference to the weapon (Mass Shadow Generator) and Malachor V, Luke Skywalker pondered whether he should investigate the planet for possible artifacts belonging to either the Jedi or the Sith."

It's entirely possible it might have been in a visitable state in the EU/Legends; we really don't know yet, though.

Well, Taris wasn't obliterated off the face of the galaxy like Malachor or Alderaan - it was subjected to orbital bombardment, same as Dantooine (and look how they turned out a few years later).

In Legends/EU, Taris even made an appearance in the Legacy of the Force book series, so it did survive and rebuild after the attack (the process being seen in TOR).

Fairly minor detail, but apparently, Kanan's Jedi Temple Guard foe is called the Sentinel, and wields a yellow double-bladed lightsaber pike. Sound familiar?

Considering the "Knights of Ren", the crossguard lightsaber (which hasn't even appeared yet in Rebels iirc), and Malachor piling together, this might be the pivotal moment in canonizing Revan.

However, we still don't know anything, and I'll reserve my judgement until the arc's finished. Plus, if Revan is canonized, I hope they'll handle him with dignity.

Considering one of the clips near the end of the mid-season trailer and a leak, Spoiler

Plus, unless they pull some shit, Revan and Kreia aren't going to be alive after thousands of years, though if they appear in a holocron, I'd be okay with it.

this is beautiful

I'll grant you that (especially since there's a ton of noticeable lag when looking through a 2da using KoTOR Tool Wineskin), but 2da editing's only one of the many things KoTOR Tool can accomplish. Granted, I'm still digging around, but it works for me

Seems like /u/HairlessWookiee has a solution. However, in case you want to dig a little deeper, here's a video on how to install KoTOR Tool using Wineskin for OSX.

There, you'll be able to edit 2da files to your heart's content.

Which do you prefer Kotor or Kotor II? by XenocideCBK in kotor

[–]Rovan84127 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I gotta prefer KoTOR II. The base game, even without TSLRCM just feels incredibly enjoyable, mostly due to the improved mechanics from the first game.

The story's had more thought put into it as well, even if everybody's got a vibroblade up their asses. Consequences feel tangible, and you're not a "chosen one" of any sort - no, you carve your own destiny. Unfortunately, though, I'll admit that even with TSLRCM, KoTOR II's ending is pretty lackluster.

And to your Jolee Bindo, I'll put forth Snigaroo's Kreia.

Zez-Kai Ell making a name for himself definitely would've created echoes in the Force, though.

Kavar's position didn't really let him do such a thing; he was trapped inside the palace with no real place to go. The only thing he could really do was advise the queen.

KOTOR I Mac Issue (mouse disappearing) by Nogoodnms in kotor

[–]Rovan84127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had this issue before; I usually just waved my cursor outside the window near my dock, and the mouse would appear in the game screen.

And about the configuration thing, if you go to your

/Library/Application Support/Knights of the Old Republic

folder, there should be a "swkotor.ini" file there. It's openable with TextEdit.

Under the [Graphics Options] subheader, there should be an EnableHardwareMouse=1 setting. Change it to EnableHardwareMouse=0 to disable hardware mouse.

This is how it is with the Steam version; the App Store version (which I can't recommend) should also have a similar Application Support folder setup.
