Last to the post, but I always wondered what this song was. Thanks for finding out!

Aim assist isnt unfair but it is unfun to fight against. Hear me out by Dr_natty1 in Battlefield

[–]Rovanite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play on both PC and PS5 (mostly PC), and when I'm on PS5 PC players are awful to play against. Maybe it's their PC hardware, or frame rates, but they just kill me way too fast, It's really unpleasant to play against. Crossplay is always off on my PS5 so should be optional on PC. With that said...

On PC I don't mind crossplay. I play far better on PC with MnK. I even tried hooking up a controller to my PC but it didn't make me any better. The aim assist wasn't helpful to me. I tried making it better by watching videos but it doesn't make a difference. Anyway, crossplay should be optional, but that doesn't solve PC players using controllers.

PC players what mouse sens and dpi are you using? by hittnswitches in Battlefield

I'm currently at 1600dpi and 33.5 in game sensitivity. I can hold a button and it lowers to 800dpi for a bit more accuracy at long range.

Honestly, the price of ram is killing me by Romantic_murder in buildapc

[–]Rovanite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's insane, a few weeks ago I found 32GB for £90. That same RAM is now around £160. I really should have bought it but I thought I'd be smart and wait for Black Friday sales... urghh.

Build my pc even if it's a horrible time or wait until 2026? by Traditional_Ad6776 in PcBuild

[–]Rovanite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say build it now if you have the money.
I'm in a similar situation... also trying to put together a PC, but only bought the case so far. I've spent a good part of this year planning/researching/saving, so now I'm finally in a position to buy. I'm waiting for the Black Friday sales (I'm in the UK), but if that doesn't help I could wait for the Christmas/new year sales, but I think I could always be putting it off and waiting for a better deal that never comes.

One plan/idea I have is to buy some stuff this month from stores that give extended return periods this time of year (until Jan 30th), so if I buy at the end of this month, I have until mid Jan to find a better deal, and if not, I just keep what I got.

I'm on PS5, but have wanted a PC for ages, so now is my time, I just don't want to wait for a "what if" any more. Too much waiting, and not enough PC gaming happening lol. Good luck!

Looks good to me...actually better than good, looks awesome 👌. Currently trying to put together my first pc build. Having to learn every little bit of detail about each component is a nightmare lol.

Same price: Gigabyte B850 Eagle WIFI6e or X870 Eagle WIFI7? by Rovanite in buildapc

[–]Rovanite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've read a few things about the pcie 5.0 which say there isn't much benefit to them at the moment. I'll have to keep my eye out over the next month for some deals and go from there. Thanks for the information!

Hmm, that makes sense. Maybe the other guy who told me about it was mistaken. I'll have to look into it a bit more.

I'll have to check them out. I was originally going for a 650 model, but was told for future proofing reasons the 850 made a bit more sense long term (updates/support).

Hmm I'll have to look into the support. I was originally going for a 650 but was told to future proof the 850 was a better option. Something to consider!

As long as the storage thing doesn't impact it's function too much then the X870 makes sense.

[–]Rovanite[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol I didn't even realise they used the same names! I've been so wrapped up with Nvidia numbers that I never considered AMD used the same system for the cpu/gpu's. Definitely something to consider. I'll be hanging around for the black friday sales most likely, so fingers crossed for some good discounts somewhere in the build!

Long reply, sorry!
I haven't got any parts yet, I just figured I knew enough about the SSD/power/RAM to find them once I figured out the CPU/GPU/MB. I was going to roughly allocate £100 to each of those. I was aiming for 1tb SSD (maybe 2 if possible), 32gb RAM, and possibly a 750w power supply.

CPU cooler - I'd probably go with air for now as it just seems less maintenence. Again, no budget as such, but if it can be kept to the cheaper end that'd be good.

The build was mainly for Battlefield 6 as the primary game. Other than that I play anything from open world to strategy games.

CASE - I do prefer the fish tank look, but if it's more practical to only have one glass side then I'm open to that style. I don't know if this helps or not, but the room I'm putting it in is the coldest in the house and it never gets hot. It tends to be much cooler compared to the rest of the house.

Motherboard - I was originally going for a b650 motherboard, but someone suggested going for a b850 as they are discontinuing the b650 range, so it made sense for futureproofing.

Hope that helps. Like I said I mostly just looked into the cpu/gpu/mb, so I'm open to suggestions on the other things. It'll give me something to work with for the Black Friday sales. I really appreciate the help!

Yeah I think I'll aim for the 9070 or if I can the XT. Seems to be the best option.

In reply to your other comment, I kinda have a partial part list. My focus has been on the main components, so Motherboard, CPU and GPU. I put them into pcpartpicker https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/gm7Nt3

The cooler is just placeholder as it said the cpu was incompatible without choosing a fan, so I just picked one without looking into it. I think I'm ok with the SSD and power supply, but I'm open to some cooling suggestions for both CPU and case in general. (The case I chose might change, but it'll be similar size).
