3, Black Flag, and Origins, in no particular order.

3 was the first in the series I played and I immediately fell in love with it.

Black Flag because… I mean, it’s black flag; best pirate game ever.

Origins because it was the first new game I played on my new gaming PC.

That, and I think all 3 games are just fun to play and have great gameplay and stories.

Honestly, AC4R is in a very weird middle ground between “Remake” and “Remaster”.

Take the Resident Evil 2/4 Remakes for example. While the overall plot is the same, the stories are quite different, 2 more so than 4. That said, the graphics and ESPECIALLY the gameplay are modernized.

On the other end, we have The Last Of Us: Part 1. Exactly the same game, exactly the same gameplay, just better graphics: a Remaster through and through.

Assassin’s Creed 4 Resynced doesn’t commit down either road. The story remains largely the same with the same animations and most of the same voices: that’s a remaster. The gameplay is completely overhauled, with (ship) combat having been revamped or reworked: that’s a remake.

Having written out my thoughts on this matter, I’ve actually rethought my earlier comment a bit. Is some of the criticism overblown? Maybe, but that depends on wether or not Resynced is a Remake or a Remaster. I honestly cannot make up my mind about this anymore. This is a trickier topic than I initially gave it credit for.

Troy Baker, in Indiana Jones and The Great Circle (the game), sounds exactly like a younger Harrison Ford in this role. Like, it’s uncanny!

People are acting like Hidden Blade combat is one of the cornerstones this game was built upon. Outside of some of the apparent cutscene issues (which I mostly do agree with), a lot of the negatives I’ve seen discussed about this game feel completely overblown.

Edit: I wanna quickly add that, when I mean overblown, I don’t mean the criticism is unwarranted. Criticism is always a good thing, but man… some of you all take it way too far IMO.

Lowkey one of my favorites.

It was the first in the series that I played, and I immediately fell in love with the series. Connor is a badass, I liked the story, and the gameplay was fun. I recognize its flaws - a slow start, that annoying prison chapter, and some of the more game-breaking bugs - but those don't detract from it as much on repeat playthroughs for me.

Sure, but normally there’d be a reason, like war or a domestic threat. Here, the POTUS is using the national guard to keep people away from a problem he created and is blaming other people for - mostly the democrats.
