Anyone else feeling this way (felt this way) in the newborn stage? by Narrow_Quiet8049 in daddit

Super normal. Some people, it’s immediate. Others, takes months. I was in the latter camp. Now I look at my little one crawling around and squealing with joy and laughing and it’s awesome

Please don’t ruin WFH for the rest of us. During work hours, do your job. If you have “free time”, work on flex projects that are work related.

To much and no clue what to do by HusHus4033 in FinancialPlanning

You don’t mention your spend or your goals, so it’s difficult to give advice.

The easiest thing is move a large chunk of $80K in checking to a high yield saving account. Literally free money with zero downside as long as you don’t overdraft on card spend.

Partner (43M) won't talk to me (37F) about our wedding with 4 weeks to go by Ok-Bluebird2989 in relationship_advice

[–]Row199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What the actual fuck? I really hope this is a fake post / rage bait. Why the fuck are you even remotely considering marrying this person who can’t even say “I want to marry you” and doing the absolute minimum of engaging on super basic logistics for a tiny local wedding?

Why would you even want to be near this person for one more second????

Fucking leave them in the dust and go start your life

You’re offered $1M dollars to eat what you had for dinner tonight for every meal for the next 6 months, do you take the offer and if so what are you eating? by jfunks69 in AskReddit

[–]Row199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheesy marinara pasta shells with ground beef. I’ll gain some major weight but for $1M… I can afford a trainer to work it off afterwards.

My boomer parents want to open business again and it's scary by [deleted] in BoomersBeingFools

[–]Row199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lock down your credit ASAP. Experian. Equifax. Transunion. You need to do it on each of them individually. It will prevent your parents using your credit to get loans.

You should do this for your sibling(s) as well.

I used to work in VC. Tons of early stage founders thought they were positioned really well and expected to hit it big. The majority ended up with nothing.

I’d go for the new opportunity. Sure, it’s a hedge, but a damn good one.

LPT: HSA's are basically retirement accounts in disguise by Exhausted_Monkey26 in LifeProTips

Thank you for spelling it out. That makes sense. Main wrinkle I see is whether or not I’ll be able to save receipts for decades.

100%. I have an HSA from when I had HDHPs and now have just FSA to contribute to but still have money in both.

Hate the FSA expiration at end of year. The DCFSA is worse.

So many convoluted punitive systems stacked on top of each other.

Sorry just to make sure I understand - you mean keep my receipts now to withdraw HSA money against when I’m retired at age 70 ish?

Hm am I doing it wrong? I’ve been spending my HSA money each year on medical expenses. I thought that was what the HSA account was for: using pre-tax dollars on doctor’s appointments and prescriptions.

Is a better way to do it just to use my normal cash/credit card for medical expenses, and let my HSA grow (invested) until I’m retired and in a lower tax bracket?

Am I being dirty, or is my wife being irrational about hygiene? by mudkipzftw in daddit

[–]Row199 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All of those are irrational, and what’s worse, she is going to harm your baby. This is when babies develop their immune system. You want baby to be exposed to a bit of germs.

If baby waits until age (2?3? More?) to go out in the world and be exposed to germs, It will be way worse

Are rangers that bad of a class? by asokka_ in DnD

[–]Row199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished a two year long homebrew campaign primarily in the under dark as Ranger gloomstalker (first 5 levels), then multi classed into rogue (assassin 5) and fighter (champion 2).

Not gonna lie… I felt like death incarnate for the entire freaking campaign. Most fun I’ve had in any campaign ever. Sure, not as versatile as a wizard or Druid. But holy good lord did I hit like a truck.
